skippercarey
Well my new toy arrived last week Jbeam 425 Tour with Quadra FE Proto 75X 10* square face angle 45.25 long at D4 ish, love the look of the smaller head more of a square blocky shape compared to the 102, on the driving range it was hard to get a feel for how it would perform a combination of s**t balls and a few adjustments to the swing after a lesson but overall i hit enough good ones to wet the appatite definatly jumps off the face and low..........Ok so yesterday i finaly found some time to take it onto the course i hit a multitude of balls off every tee also with the 9.5* 102 Crazy TJ80 for comparison this thing is loooong first 2 i almost drove par 4 of 300m ball flight was lower than the 102 but even with its low traj i still managed to carry the 102 on more than a few ocasions, this thing it so hot it catapults off the face and hits the ground like a rafa forehand......... and ultra accurate a cant think of one drive that i sprayed i was able to work it both ways quite easily. I love the sound of the jbeam/quadra really muted and meaty compared to th 102/crazy which has a more soft glassy feel i couldnt say id prefer one over the other both awesome, the more club head speed the better the jbeam felt/sounded i can see why the big hitters would like this head it just loves to be pounded. The Quadra Proto is a big improvement over the original as the zohan would say its "silky smooth".......... much like the original but less left side bias i didnt lose anything right like i use to with the original and it felt stouter to, i still prefer the Crazys i dont think anything comes close but the proto seams to suit this head quite nicely. Overall the jbeam was longer i hit a lot of of PBs on certain holes but the 102 wasnt far behind on a course with less run it could easily be reversed as the 102 has the perfect traj mid low spin and the 102 is more forgiving on off centre shots, either way i have 2 fantastic drivers............the problem now is deciding which one to play

How much did the new toy set u back? It was head only im pretty sure thats the only way they sell them, umm it cost me a fair bit around the same as the Epon except the quadra is half the price of the crazy, played another nine holes this arvo the two drivers head to head again, there is not doubt the jbeam is longer its a beast!!............and im really loving the feel and sound of the jbeam its just so solid a bit like some tour issue divers i have had that were hot melted, maybe its the smoothness of the quadra over the whip cracking crazy that im liking but there's no doubt i will be playing the jbeam in the state champs next week, maybe i should alternate for the 4 rounds? I'd say stick and devote to one during the championship :) I can't find this head on the pro-shop to get an idea of price.
