Crazy is well, Crazy they are just pure retail consumer based.

I'm getting the feeling they don't care much about profit as they spend more on stunning buildings and 3,000 dollar golf bags than any golf company I know.

I've been wondering too. Not sure that shaft co sponsors players in the USA so no1 will be stopped to switch.

I would have thought there will be some in the Japan Tour. There is a eBay seller of crazy tour issue shafts/JDM head in the US claiming he gets stuff from a tour player sponsored by Crazy. Which tour I don remember.

Crazy was afterall originally a long drive type performance shaft so many Drakon (driving contest) pros use the shaft.

For pros this will change as Crazy has launched their tour van (they call it a tour bus) and has growing presence with a few players on the Japan Men's and ladies tours and Na Yeon Choi on the LPGA used the LY series shafts (not sure if she still does).

Pros are beginning to discover the strengths of Crazy and this also shows with their increased coverage in many of Japan's top golfing publications. The shaft is also in play by many amateurs and top juniors with high swing speeds.

With the resources they have I'm guessing more pro presence will come though outside of Japan is another story.

Nice T. If I'm a racecar driver & I find out there is a new & what possibly is currently the best gearbox, I'd be silly not to test it :). It should be just a matter of time that's unless the top pros are really using higher carbon grading versions lol

It does seem odd that the best players in the world, who have access to everything, would be using less than the best available. If you look on the PGA tour, a shaft such as the white board for example is used a lot, and we know this doesn't compare to a crazy.

Whos to say Tigers Whiteboard isnt made of 80T? these companys make stock shafts for OEMs it wouldnt be hard for them to make a shaft on request for any player, just like some OEMs have had irons forged in japan for their top players..........doesnt rickie fowler have a Diamana with special paint scheme? i wouldnt be suprised to find a 80T shaft on tour disguised as something else

I talk to mitsubishi U.S tour guy's they down play high ton carbon.

The brand's that are out on tour promoting, giving away their product in full force will have the most players.

Crazy's price point is way to high to try to appeal to the mass market, they have to take the niche aftermarket fanatic road.

i wonder though, the crazies are superior to anything used on tour, imagine those in the hands of pga bombers

and their fairways hit would improve:) i do agree though that they are too expensive to give away and are at a pricepoint

most average golfers in the us wouldnt be willing to pay twice over.

guess they are happy with the way they are and a little more market share in japan would do any harm

My point too. I mean if they use irons that are made to look like the mass produced ones but are of different forging/higher quality then why should it stop with the heads?

Tiger's irons are same forging mold just a different grind.

If it was about playing the best Bridgestone guy's would be playing TourStage and everything would be made by Endo.

One I can think of are the TM 300s. The tour issue is claimed to be Miura forged.

Oh sure, no doubt, Tigers irons used to be produced by Miura. That was when he was with Titleist. I bought a set.

But today, I don't know of any. That was then and this is now.

Also the Miura TM 300 Forged was a retail iron in Japan. The U.S version was made in China.

Chris, I think even titleist putter heads & TM inserts are also different for the tour. I haven't heard of it too lately for irons & woods but I wouldn't discount it. Give the tour players the best & keep bringing out a lot of models = big profits. Hence I'm glad to learn about quality JDM stuff.

thats not necessarily true, especially for you guys here who buy high end shafts. in many cases they are the same shafts. the only differences would be tour van folks being very picky ie discarding everything from the batch that is off specs etc or prototypes that are not in production yet and might never even make it to production or make it with tweaks based on feedback and feedback is the reason engineers do it. there is this belief out there that tour equipment has some magical qualities beyond anything available to mere mortals while all it really is are prototypes for staff players and stock hand picked stuff for everybody else tweaked and pimped to their needs. there is even this whole market for tour van stuff but show me anybody who started to play tour level game after getting any of that.

Yea I agree there ant, It's mostly the same stuff hand picked.
