Posted May 23, 201113 yr comment_167311 It's always fun to launch a new brand, especially when its a complete line up of solid designs made for the better player. Akira Golf has teamed up with TSG and were excited as here's a brand that is offering us the ability to sell heads only of JPGA & PGA Tour Issue Products. I just completed a blog post with a brief overview of the brand, its backing, its philosophy, and what tickles me most about them. It will be listed in the TSG ProShop starting tomorrow. This week and probably the into the next I will be highlighting more specifically some of the products I think you guys will enjoy. Let's start with pics shall we:
May 23, 201113 yr comment_167312 Very intriguing! Especially the pics of the irons and wedges. Can't wait to hear more!
May 23, 201113 yr comment_167319 I heard of these but didn't know they look this good. when will there be review?
May 23, 201113 yr comment_167320 do they have any non-conforming crazy spinning ball shredding wedges?
May 23, 201113 yr comment_167321 I asked about Akira golf back in August 2010 and you guys didn't have anything real positive to say( search Akira and look for the post). What's changed?
May 23, 201113 yr Author comment_167323 I asked about Akira golf back in August 2010 and you guys didn't have anything real positive to say( search Akira and look for the post). What's changed? What's changed is they released new product that's pretty impressive. Back in August 2010 what's known as the TM series today was under the label prototype and it wasn't the same. the TM-Prototype went super low! When it was released to the consumer they made it a bit more forgiving.
May 23, 201113 yr comment_167324 I came across some drivers from eBay 6 weeks ago & it was labelled best driver 2005. Seeing it was spec I was wondering why it's Not on the proshop. The new line definitely looks very impressive.
May 23, 201113 yr comment_167328 like the way they look but wish all those brands stopped overusing "prototype" and "tour" on their gear.
May 24, 201113 yr comment_167331 Like the wedges. Seen a few of their really old stuff on sale locally. Are these these the same guys that made the akira pride wedges?
May 24, 201113 yr Author comment_167347 The new products will begin to trickle in starting tomorrow. I'll be going over the entire wedge line tomorrow in the blog as well. It's quite the large line up, with all the different models it gets hard to keep track.
May 27, 201113 yr comment_167474 The fairwaywood looks good. Not sure about the driver but i want to see it from different angles.
July 9, 201113 yr Author comment_168759 I was looking at the Darrell Survey and noticed something interesting. KJ Choi had two Akira Clubs in the bag at the U.S Open. The Akira M114 Fairway Wood #3 with Ozik Radix Shaft & The Akira M120 Hybrid wotj Pzol XCON 8M2.
July 10, 201113 yr comment_168785 In this week's Golf World (July 11, 2011) Bag room. K.J. had Akira 3 & 5 wood in the bag at Aronimink G.C.(AT&T Tigers tourney).
July 11, 201113 yr Author comment_168810 While I'm not the biggest fan of the entire line up or how it's laid out (a bit confusing) there are a few that stand out big time. The M209 driver, M series fairway woods are a must try, the KS201 irons are the best Cast club I have ever hit. The wedges are fine especially the H2 if your a better player BUT the design has been done before many times so it's nothing new but still decent. The thing that makes people play the wedges is that they teeter on the line of being legal and illigal groove sharpness. Akira wedges and Kenmochi have some of the most spin in today's conforming wedges.
July 11, 201113 yr comment_168812 Ordered one each of the fairway woods: 3, 5 and 7. I need to decide what shafts to put in them. Ideas?
July 17, 201113 yr Author comment_168986 Wondering if anyone can help me on this. We have sold a ton of Akira Tour wedges in the last 2 days. Anyone know what's going on to spark this?
