bogeydog
I know how difficult it is to digest all of the material about golf shafts and decide what is right for our swing, etc. I have been there and quite frankly am still there. The emergence of new equipment and the fun of ho'ing is fun. Recently there has been a lot of talk about these shafts. The Quadra was a big hit and has many faithful followers. The Crazy CB was a sleeper and one that many seem to like. The Muziik is a killer. but due to price maybe a too scary for many to buy and test. Below are my thoughts based on my experience cycling these shafts through a Ryoma Premia, 10 degree, square face, 200g head. I have included any deviation from this build if I know them. In regards to me, I am 5'3" strong build, high 90s to low 100s SS, medium tempo (but I like to hit it hard), high ball hitter, misses are caused by getting to hand-sy, good driver of the ball, typically prefer a staight to draw ball. CB 46 6.7 I bought this shaft along with the Ryoma head back in February. Having tried the TJ46 in a Kamui before and hearing how many struggled to find a Crazy that worked for them, I was not sure which to buy. I thought back to what worked for me in the past. I decided I do better with shafts that have a torque rating in the lower 4s. I also never get along with shafts that are too stiff. That always results in fades and pushes. The specs on the CB46 looked like they would work and the shaft was advertised as lower spin. This build was somewhat abnormal for me as it was built at 45.75" for swing weight purposes. Feel = Really nice. Softer feel, big kick, without being a wet noodle. Trajectory - Medium to high. Path - Mostly soft draws, seems to be anti-right. Performance - Really good. Easy to hit, satisfying feel, doesn't need to be muscled or overcooked to work. Pure hits are money. Roll-out is above average. Comments: IMO, best for controlled player who can control the left side. The profile plays soft. The description from Crazy says it is for aggressive swingers which I do believe a reasonable level. Likely fits a wide range of golfers types. Likely tied with the Muziik for distance, but not as accurate if you are aggressive. This club longer than the others and the length likely softened the finished flex somewhat. Muziik Bangvoo Premium 260cpm Tourspecgolfer really fell in love with this Ryoma combo. I agree that it is stellar. I ordered the 260cpm model (in stiff flex a 250 and 260 is offered). Club was build at D2, 45". What a pretty shaft, class all the way. Feel - Great sold feel. It feels powerful and solid. Kicks pretty hard, but not as much as the Crazy. Trajectory - Medium. Path - Straight, straight, straight. Performance - Really good also. Laser straight. Likes to be hit hard. Ball jumps off club and you know it. Roll-out is best of the three. Comments: I was very excited to get this shaft. The 260 is too stiff for me by a few clicks. That is why I am selling it. The torque rating is 3.8 which is in my danger zone. When I cranked it, the flight was the best of all the shafts. Medium to med high launch, super blast rocket. Likely will be liked by those with good lag and like to crank it up without fear of overcoming the shaft. I really like this shaft. I am considering buying the 250 cpm model as that will fit me better. If you are a 100 to 110 SS person, this could be a monster with control. Quadra Fire Express 65SR I have had this since the beginning of the year. I held off the purchase as long as I could. This shaft was not installed in the Ryoma, but in my 2009 Yamaha Inpres 4.6V Tour head. Feel - Wow. In this combo, it feel f-king the best. Each time I hit it, it feels as though it went 400 yards. Just so satisfying. In this combo, the best feel of the three. Trajectory - Med to high Path - Straight to draw Performance - Rock solid. Hangs right here with the others. Maybe a tad shorter, but so automatic. Seems to allow me to hold back some as well as smash it. It will take all that I have. I can see why so many love the shaft. It makes the FE Proto very attractive also. Of the three, this maybe the most user friendly. I can see it fitting the widest range of golfers. Final Thoughts Crazy CB 46 - Could be the longest. If it was a little more controlled, could be the performance winner. Muziik - I am intrigued what could be if I step down to the 250cpm model. If the accuracy stayed the same, and they drop in flex fit me better, distance could overtake the Crazy. Quadra FE - Probably the best for me when my swing is off. It I could get a little for distance out of it, definitely a contender. Superb though.
Eca
Nice comparison Review B. There will be quite a few that will be choosing between these & in my case also the Quadra Proto.

gian11
My SS is almost like you 95-98 but more of a smooth tempo, I wonder if i could achieve same result in terms of direction if I use CB46, I prefer to have a slight draw and would like to minimize mis**ts on the right. I was thinking Crazy TJ-46 Noir before but Im now confused which shaft is for me between the the two. Any thoughts?

The CB46 I think is rather easy to load without coming out of your shoes. GBS here may have some feedback for you, but my gut says that the CB46 isn't being played here by only aggressive hitters and the results have been good. I haven't heard anything about the TJ46 Noir. I am not sure the old TJ46 is like the new Noir TJ 46. I am fighting left so when i play the TJ46 even with the 6.2 flex i still hit a little fade, I wonder whether it is my swing or the shaft. I still have it. i have it installed in my ol R9 460 and during off days this combo is automatic. little fade wont kill me i just aim a little left. :)

supo
i got the j46 as a BIG anti left shaft i catagoriacally can not turn that over what so ever in the crazy 435. even a flex light it JUST goes left the tiniest amount. the cb is a left bias i think my cb 80 noir is alovely draw ball every time. the FEX is anothe antil left same but to a lessor degree is the quadra proto. the bangvoo is straight. I agree stew, fex is antileft & after a full season of antileft oban shaft, I'm looking forward to the cb46. Antileft have been good however coz I seem to Get more more trouble when I lose left than right. Maybe the extra roll when you lose left gets you in further trouble? I just miss shaping a draw with ease

The other Crazy shafts i have ie. FW80 & LY01 performed the same. Hope it will work for you too!

pca168
What Crazy shaft would you recommend for me Iam 5'2" with a swing speed of 80's to 90's and I have a Crazy 435 with LY1 with flex R2. Have used it and when I swing smoothly everything is ok. But distance is around 200 yards. And if swing aggressively sometimes slice and it is not good. Would like to have a Ryoma premia but there is a lot of crazy shafts do not know which shaft would suit me. HELP me anyone! Thanks

I know you are the expert stew, but wouldn't the 80 series be a little heavy? Could the CB 46 or the TJ 46 in 6.2 flex be better?
