FrankThong
The Crazy Toyoshima wedges arrived today. Some first impressions: I really like the look; really sharp looking, the engraving is subtle and the shape is gorgeous. Feels good in the hands although I'm thinking D2 may be a little light for wedges. Would have liked the leading edge of the 52° to be a little sharper to play better on tight lies, which is where I think I'd be using a 52° more. The milling is hardly noticeable to the eye but felt when you run your fingers on the face. I hope this means max spin without shaving golf balls! Bit of tarnish here and there; not so important since I expect them to get a lot worse! But would have liked a pristine product on arrival. Oh and after being spoilt by Epon, they sport the ugliest ferrules I've ever seen ha! ;) Not sure if I am going to play them tomorrow without having them ranged first. I'll post some after-thoughts if I do.

Haha. I am trying to convince myself but I'd have to leave my trusty old wedges at home and that could potentially blow up in my face (and wallet) to be fiddling with untried scoring clubs! I might just sneak them in and hit 'unofficial' shots whenever possible. Lets see. ;)

Spoon
well being spolied by certain equipment is a good observation but certainly not a dterminant with your final product looks and final delivery are very important, and we do infact pay a lot of attention to this considering the price but if it works and looks 99% as good then id be a happy camper. hard to keep an objective opinion especially after all the reviews and spending a heavy pouch of coins, il say for certain that your wedges look good! more than good actually! game it and give your opinion in a couple of days:) hopefully the performance redeems first impressions! btw frank, post them coppers! i get mine next week

Like I said, only concerns are the D2 swing weight and rather 'blunt' leading edge of the 52. I've played a round with the 302 actually, but needed to send them back for an overhaul, some weird stuff going on. Going to play the 2nd round tomorrow. If all goes well, I'll post something after that. ;)

It could be the shaft, I heard they had to be 'run in'; not getting the same kick for all the irons. It could also be me. Anyway, I had the lofts checked out and some minor adjustments were made. Lets see how it goes tomorrow.

Um, coming from someone with a 'diarrhea' moniker? Heh. I know what you mean, I get mocked by the infidels I play with about Crazy all the time. You know what they say, a rose by any other name. Truth is, the shafts are very good. You will take them seriously when you've gamed it. :)
FrankThong
juts in case u dont like them......................................, You owned/tried/man-handled more clubs than a mere mortal should in one lifetime! Seriously though, there might be a chance I might not play these. The SDJ Type-bite and Miura k-grind are currently ruling the wedge section in my bag. I could make space for one more wedge if I sacrifice a second ute. Not sure. We'll see how things go. ;)

Frank i like the word you used infidel in relation to non jdm users! i like that indeed. them infidels are missing a lot!

Excellent wedge all around; gotta thank T for that recommendation. It may not be as 'handsome' as the Toyos but the playability is quite unmatched, imo. FrankThong
I got the coppers:) I will be receiving them Tom. I'm teal excited to take them for a spin They are super soft, so soft sometimes you wonder if you've actually hit the ball! Not a deal breaker, but I wished it was just a tad 'harder'. The copper scratches easy; 2 rounds, nothing from the bunkers yet, and some of irons are getting quite scratched up on the face and sole, which I don't mind, of course. Still a few kinks to work out. The 4-iron, which was hitting 1.5 club shorter, is now 0.5 club longer. The 7-iron is still short. But the rest is kinda fixed so I'm happy. Those of you who have not seen them in the metal, I can assure you, none of the pics here or anywhere do them any justice. Don't lose any sleep over it, be happy with your 301s; I wouldn't trade them in for the 302s. Especially if they were already in copper and have developed a nice patina. ;)

(let him hate the shape)pls , pls,pls Oh, I love the shape. A lot! Thing is, the k-grind is really special (you know, the one with the knuckle soles?); it is great from the rough and bunkers. And the SDJ's sharp leading edge is super off tight lies. They pair is like Batman and Robin for me now! One other thing, the Toyos are also quite 'chunky'. Couldn't TSG squeeze a pair for you? ;)

Ferrules are the usual black graphite, which I preferred over the new 'bling' glitzy type. I heard there were gold ones but these are more understated. ;) Loft was adjusted, not much, but was told that the shafts needed a bit of 'running in', need to hit them over avfew more rounds to have the 'kick' working. Not sure how true that is, I'll just play some more and see how it works out. No no, they are to be treated like any other clubs. End of the day, they're made to fulfill one purpose and one purpose only, that is to hit golf balls. The moment you start to baby them, their existence will become meaningless. No head covers, no special concessions, no exceptions.
