Eca
Hi Folks, Reason is I'm a digger and conditions at the courses i play is lush/soft and gets a bit wet too. But the big chunky irons never suited my eye. I'm referring to +3 bounce to standard example: PW standard bounce around 6or7 so so around 10or11 4 iron standard 2* so 5* The Callaway x Proto i think fits this bill which is the new Razr MB. Thanks in advance Eric

+TourSpecGolfer
What's the issue your having? I don't follow bounce angles on irons at all to be honest but if digging into turf is your issue or you play in softer conditions there are different shaped soles I can recommend. supo
im lost totally u play in oz the grounds are generally a lot tougher than elsewhere the grass is usually shorter and tougher i always went for small soled irons like kyoei blades tourstage 901s or yururi flatbacks that kind i find they are best down there

I think they are shorter and tougher deck. I've only played one tight lie fairway & firm, The Vintage at hunter Valley and not far behind is the Macquarie Links. I excel with my irons there. The majority of courses out west unfortunately is not. There has to be something in it for the Callaway x Prototypes to release such high bounce blades and has a big following which btw is now in the RAZR MB. Just check the specs PW at 11* bounce. I mean why would they release this? Perhaps this is versatile enough for most of the course conditions.

Hi Chris, Im really looking more into better turf interaction which i think the slim sole are a little more sensitive to. I have come to realise that i need to really take into account the course conditions that i generally play and the mid autumn - winter - mid spring where my game suffers. Grounds softens, wet early (when i'm normally playing), last couple of seasons quite rainy.. digger style swing with low bounce clubs = glancing blow. Its almost i need a different set for these months ie wider sole but they aesthetically they just dont sit well with me. When i say the specs of the Cally x proto i was wondering why they did this and maybe this is the kind of set up i need with perhaps a slightly blunted leading edge. Of course since enjoying my first couple of JDM clubs, I;m naturally inclined towards JSPEC Irons that fits the bill. Problem is lack of access to demo. Eca
Umm the Yonex MB in the proshop.. Are this figures the bounce ie 9* for the PW? Can't read Japanese. This could be the set for a digger like me. Need more info on this.
idrive
JAT, IF, weaker lofts, 2-3* weaker. fits in to the right gaps... have you considered bending them? A 46*Loft w\8* of bounce will have 10* bounce if bent to 48*loft. Bending the clubs this way would open up almost all of the JDM sets. (with narrow soles) :) I've not done this with a complete iron set but do it with wedges all the time with great results.

E so whats the skinny, have you decided on what set your getting or potentially Eyeing? I agree with Jeff on the bending thing have done it a lot with my wedges Most especially in my 52 and 58. 2 deg bending down will increase bounce by 2 deg, Doesn't sound much but makes a world of difference. In fact I just bent my RC 58 into A 60 to make it more playable in the softer wet conditions locally.
