jjunonet
I also saw this white GD Tour AD shaft Ryo is using at 2011 PGA Championship and wondering if anyone has any info on this shaft. It looks good.

+TourSpecGolfer
actually today he is using his orange DJ shaft, I asked yonex what shaft the white one was, they sent me a video of him swinging the DJ series in orange just a few hours ago from their cell phone. jjunonet
yup a tour ad prototype, no name yet. It's mid kick, 75 gram range. im told. Is it a Tour AD DI or DJ type of shaft? I'm loving the DI on my R-9 and would be interest in looking into this shaft once available to general public since I would need new driver by that time. ^^

Spoon
I'm pretty sure he was bagging the di8x at firestone last weekend. He and Scott were bagging the same shafts.
gocchin
I asked Graphite Design Japan this morning and they said that it is not any specific model. It's a one of a kind at this point designed specifically for Ryo. Whether it goes mainstream (probably will if it works well since every brand in Japan loves milking Ryo-kun's popularity) or not has yet to be decided. It could very well be a whippy training aid as his actual gamer of a driver is in his bag (white headcover) while the white shafted proto is a black headcover. Maybe GD just doesn't want to tell. Guest kbeasley
I followed Ryo on holes 14 through 18 today at the PGA Championship. Was amazing to watch. I stood next to his Yonex equipment man on the 18th tee, had the opportunity to ask him a couple questions about what he had in his hand, and what Ryo was bagging. He told me Ryo was playing the ezone blades today, and that the orange GD shaft is a DJ7, approximately 75 grams. The Yonex rep was carrying 2 drivers: the white prototype, along with another orange shafted driver. I didn't get a close enough look to see if it the white one had a model number on it. He said it was a DJ8, about 80 grams. All of the drivers (3 today) are the ezone 380 head. Hope that helps.
