Petethepilot
Hi All, it has been out for a while now. The shape is great, the quality ok but not great. What is the playing verdict? Low spin screamer or inconsistent. How does it rate compared to other JDM stars (Ryoma, JBeam etc) Regards, Pete BTW the Steel FW is a (off the radar) star. Best looking FW bar none in my opinion. Spoon
It's ok, value for your money for surel more of a fairway finder Than a splitter. If I dint try the other jdm these would be tops Unfortunately I have.
Petethepilot
That is a bit what I think. Good but not great! The fairway coupled with the right shaft could be great!!!
Spoon
That is a bit what I think. Good but not great! The fairway coupled with the right shaft could be great!!! Their hybrid is very good. Even the stock shaft is ok. Dead straight and very long. For me best valued hybrid
RIduffer
Jury is still out for me... I got side tracked thus far with the RC D/S vs Yonex 13* vs RC 14* and have not made it back to the driver yet. Will be trying a P9003x in it soon and am hoping the combo will be great. The times I have hit it with various USDM shafts it was a performer, but I have not hit very many JDM drivers either.
+TourSpecGolfer
The 380 feels great, distance is decent, shape is amazing. I don't think it has the best distance but it's a good value overall. +1 on the Yonex steel fairways, that and the new Akira are tops when it comes to traditional type woods. RIduffer
Is there a 380cc or smaller head still on the market that is longer than this?
supo
doubt it the yonex 380 i got some good results with at a range but choosing the 10* was a mistake for me beci hit high balls anyway the shape of the head att address i love, the fce is prominent and very pear shaped. the match i played it in with the quadra was awsome i illed the bal that day, but too high ,in a 9* this wuld suit perfectly and for the price??? serisly very very veyry good driver! Petethepilot
I will be gaming one against you Stew at our match on the 28th. It will be a good test because I will have the Stinger in it. If it doesn't perform with that it won't perform with anything. Pete

RIduffer
Heading to the builder with a newly arrived FW Sigma 50 Noir for the RC and will pull the P9003x and try in the 380cc at 44". Played the Yonex today with the AD EV 6x at 45" and just didn't perform... Hopefully better luck with the P9003x...
Petethepilot
Your TSG avatar says 3.9 so when in Japan I give you 2 right!!!??? In Sydney I give you 6 or 7. Of course I may not be available for the return match (unless you promise to get on the piss with the Ozgolfers!!!!). Looking forward to it a lot. Pete p.s. We will give a match report for interested TSGer's.
RIduffer
Got it built, now just have to hit the range with it... So what was playing as a 44" RC 11.5* D/S shaft turned into a 45" Yonex 380 cc driver. With the grip and club head on and adding 18 to the measured CPM it is 290 with the P9003x. Should be a fun test... Just for comaprison, the FW 50 Sigma cpm'd at 286 raw and the FW 80 Black was 290 with grip and 18 added...
Petethepilot
290 cpm. Man you must be strong! I play x flex at 268 cpm's. Good luck, Pete
RIduffer
That is CPM of the P9003x originally cut down for the RC D/S to play at 44". The two Crazy FW shafts were only butt trimmed to play to length. FW 80 to play at 43 in the Yonex 13*, now plays 43.5 in the RC 14* and the Sigma 50 FW was butt trimmed to play 44" in the 11.5* RC D/S. Not sure if I am strong or just stupid... If my wife found how how much this bag experiment cost I know divorced would fit in there somewhere also... I will be gaming this tomorrow morning along with the Miura BB with the Fujikura 115i S that were tipped for 1/2 a flex extra stiffness. Hit a small bucket comparing the 6 iron of the Miura/Fuji combo to the TourStage/Crazy 6 iron. Think the Fuji had a slightly higher ball flight but both are rock solid clubs... RIduffer
Didn't play a round today, but went to the range and hit a number of balls with Yonex/P9003x. Oh my goodness, what an electric combination. Just smoking the ball. Has a great mid launch didn't seem to be ballooning at all. Was hitting the net about 240 yds out at around 30 ft high. Will be great fun to see it out on the course....
