wmclarenf1
I knew I should not have gotten active on this site. Been seeing EGG all over the place so I'm curious now. OK, I can;t hit FW off the deck to save my life and I've shaped my game around that. I really only use the FW off the tee on tighter par 4. I'm playing the TEE XCG-3 15 now which makes it my 3rd TEE in succession after the CB 1 and 2. So the questions, off the tee, shaft and loft being the same, is the EGG over the TEE XXCG-3: 1. Longer? 2. Lower spinning and hence more roll? 3. More forgiving (this is the least important as I will play this club off the tee but I am still a very social golfer now for various reasons) Thanks in advance. +TourSpecGolfer
I think it's apples to oranges. the tour edge is a hybrid, the egg well I'm not sure if we can even compare that to a normal FW. my opinion ( I have not hit the tour edge ) is the Egg will smash it when it comes to distance and forgiveness. Spin I can't comment on but I think the Egg is pretty boring.
Eca
I have hit both and i have also come from cb2 & cb3. The CB2 &3 are long and great off the tee but i found tougher off the deck. The xcg-3 FW is a big head but shallower profile and a lot of people lilke it and so did I. Then enter the EGG (previous model) which i shafted with same one i used on the CB3, and the rest is history. I have hit Gian11's newer egg and that is also awesome and better sound. Basically superior ballflight, easy to use off the deck and on tight par 4, i dont bother teeing it or just barely off the ground if crappy tee box. I have 3 guys witness me go head to head on the range vs cb3 and the EGG killed the CB3. Hope that is of help.
jamnguy1
Egg will beat the xcg-3 i would get the new model egg over the old one
gocchin
The key is the egg is quite easy to hit off the deck. The new model actually excels off the deck vs teeing off thanks to its shallow face long sole.
supo
ive hit both extensively hte TEE is prob the only non jdm fw id consider. ive still got my cb1 which is huge form a tee off the deck tho faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaget abarrrrrrrrrrrrt it......! the old egg seems lower spin than the new model, the new one sound a billion times better and eaier from the deck. if u ONLY hit form a tee keep the TEE but if u want to step on up form a fairway then most DEF get an egg, most definatly

There are 2 different EGG heads? Can you please share more.

I am gathering the EGG is far superior off the DECK but off the TEE, woudl you say the TEE is a lot longer than the EGG or the EGG can still keep up shaft and loft being the same. Thanks again in advance.
supo
theya re pretty close. form a tee box. ive hit some bombs with theTEE but i cant for the life of me gt it anywhere near the egg off the deck, its a disaster. the egg isnt really made to put on a tee bec its so low profile just get one once u hit it ul understand comletely that fw shot just make u laugh

LOL Thanks for sharing your experiences. I saw a used 13* EGG BUT I thnk its the older head and it did NOT have the scoop out at the back ie it has a crown of sorts. Sounds to me like I better get myself the next Egg that comes available in my territory, provided I can afford it. I'm ok with the tee but need a lot of help off the grass. gus
I own both the new CB4 Tour and this years EGG, both are extremely long however the PRGR shines so much outside of the tee box that it really is a no brainer. The EGG is a super product and way more versatile, my only wish would be a hair open club face, its square at best...BB Edited August 19, 2011 by BigBen
Eca
Key is to get shaft that fits you ie weight (EGG stock seem light). If you have "the" shaft and you have that on a TEE & EGG like I did, then you will see how superior the EGG is.
supo
its a no brainer end of chat i hit my egg spoon 15* old model with diamana kaili 70 s over the weekend i hadnt hit it in a few months off t he deck. there isnt anything thats even close. i was back to my amazed look of how did it get there. EVERYONE thta plays golf shud have one of these at thier disposal u mighten need ti game it every week but when u need it its just out of this world from a tee i mstill reffy oin it. then i just threw a ball on the deck and hit it , bahhumbug. sensational. still like the yamaha and RC better for ma tee box , but ..............., oh btw......... the kaili as a fw shaft is a ripper. low long smalls left. i love it.
