Posted August 30, 201113 yr comment_170249 I read somewhere on this forum that one can determine the lenght of the tip on an existing Tour AD shaft by measuring the tip of the shaft to the Tour AD marker. Does anybody have this info handy? I have a Tour AD MD7S on an EGG Spoon playing at 43.5".. I can play it no problem with good kick.. I am contemplating trimming it to 43"... This is the reason I am asking.. should I tip trim it for .5" or leave well enough alone and just butt trim and slam on a new grip..
August 31, 201113 yr comment_170256 dont think it need trimmin on t he tip. it will lower its flight and stiffen it up a bit, un less thats what u really want butt it, keep the 75 s feel as it is , very tasty as it is, no?
August 31, 201113 yr comment_170264 I'm with Stew. Unless u r ballooning, i'd leave the tip. Butt trimming will firm it up a bit & will drop swingweight.
August 31, 201113 yr Author comment_170269 Yes, MD7 is very stable and easy to swing on the EGG 15... What about for my EGG 17 Fwy?? Should I tip that one at all?? I think GD recommends .5" for 3 wood and 1" for 5 wood?? By the looks of my 3 wood, it doesn't look like it's been tipped at all...
August 31, 201113 yr comment_170274 In an egg not a bad idea as rhey can go higher than more full fws anything in an egg is great

My guess would be that due to the light 3w egg head, the non tipped shaft is working. If ur 3w shaft is good untipped then go .5 tipped 5w and have it play .5 longer so you have an option to tip or butt trim or leave as is Edited September 1, 201113 yr by Eca
