Maybe its my blazing 97 MPH swing speed but the newer version Egg Spoon with the scooped out back makes a noticeable swooshing sound when swung. the impact sound is improved over the prior version but I noticed this swooshing sound. Anybody else notice this?

Yes if you have a fast backswing it makes a "swoosh" both ways.

Yup the swoosh is something we all talked about when it first came out... (the new version that is). I called it like a katana sword unsheathing.

My buddy was standing close by and he heard it. it's kindna cool..don't you think. How is that club treating you?

The swooshing took some getting used to. But now I don't even notice it. Love the Egg!

$21 richer this weekend! Good swings produce great results mediocre swings good results. Quick and jerky swings still pretty much OK.

.335 tip right? I may tweek the shaft.

Thanks!

I love my Egg, and it goes bloody miles too.....and I mean miles, glad I ended up with the 17*!!

It does swoosh but this thing is still bloody long. I have to tee lower than I do with the TEE though as this thing with its very low CG can hit it very high if tee-ed higher.

egg was so long , i dont know why i even changed it. i guess there was something i

wasnt comfy with ( swoosh defintely one of them) and of course its inability to work

for me off the tee.

if the new ryoma wasnt coming out i would have given the spoon 17 another shot.

its inability to work

for me off the tee.

LOL... For me and where my game is at, I just want something that goes straight and long and teh EGG is that. If its left or right, its due to my alignment or my setup that has cuase some push or pull.

and of course its inability to work me off the tee

do you mean you cant bend it? or are you like me and just cant bring myself to tee it low enough when hitting off a tee?

.... I've found that by just dropping the ball, then positioning the ball using the club head in a nonchalant way.... Works best for me, couldn't even think of using a Tee!

that might work nicely for some people but for an old drop kicker like myself, no tee and a fairway wood is a terrifying experience.

You can always tee your ball up like Laura Davis, just make sure there are no green keepers around at the same time.

just re associated my self with this litttle beauty tonight.

17* 3 wood new model

i was at my clubbuilders pulling apart thousands of perfectly good pieces, yet again

and he suggested i put the GD p9903x in this head, i was going to put the matrix f7m2 ltd in it

but assured me this was the best choice.

used it tonight at the range and he was spot on, the extra weight 10 grams or so made a monumental differnce to this club, there was none of my old swinging over the top of it, i got plenty out of the screws, high soaring thumps.

the par 5s are going to be well in range now and with a high dropping ball not a low worm burner.

the more i hit this shaft the better i like it.

ive just discovered i need a much heavier club to swing more consistantly nad the p9 is just that shaft, im thinking the crazy sigma is the other thats going to get redone somewhere very soon

ive tried juts about every top ender in the egg and so far tonights combo was the most consistant, bec of the extra weight

might be hard to get this out of my bag..!

so many club........................ so little time.

your back to square1 lol! back to the 17 fairway splitter. good call on the P9003

would be a monster combo indeed. if just dint pre order the new ryoma i would have

defintely given the new egg+di8 combo another shot.

That's exactly what I did in my egg and as I wrote on the blog heavier and stiffer.

The egg with a light shaft is a very light club and easy to top. Making it heavier just creates more pure impact and much more stability which in turn equals more distance and more fairways.
