Vegaman
Inspired by Supo's "reliving" thread, I thought i'd like to mention this shaft I have an old Callaway Fusion, the 2nd version with the cup face. I traded something many years ago to get it, the grip was very slippery and dry and it has been collecing dust ever since. The head is 10.5 degees, but I remember not being able to get this of the ground after getting it, and haven't touched it since. I put a new grip on it the other week, and thought what the hell let try it for a 9 hole round in the afternoon. I dont know wether this shaft has been tipped, because its a stiff PT-6, the first version I guess red and black graphics, but it feels very unforgiving and very stiff. I hit some pretty good shots with it, very low penetrating balls. The head is friendly enough, but the shaft felt really punishing. If I missed with it just a bit, it bit me right back and the ball went nowhere or just low and right..The clean hits where a blast though, some really long drives but the saht is not exaclty electric in feel. Or maybe its the head. How on earth does/did these shafts play in say PT-7 Xstiff? Did anybody else have this experience with the PT series? Spoon
I love the pt series. I had the pt8s in a g-field 4w that I picked up In this forum. Very nice shaft! Low and powerful. Does not feel As good as the di and QT series but it was quite the top dog in it's heyday. I think it was replaced by the qt md. Those are very similar shafts same flight But the MD feels a lot better
gocchin
It's a very good shaft and is actually still in play by many Japanese pros including Momoko Ueda, they just won't change it out.

idrive
Have a couple of PRGR FW's with the PT-7 shafts. S flex I think they're as good as just about anything. I don't think they made a very good Driver shaft but excellent FW shafts. IMO they do not play stiff to flex, perhaps a bit soft. If it's that hard to launch I'd bet it has been tipped. supo
the blue an d black ones pt7 series.? yes indeed! i have 2 of these in a 3w and 5w X-flex the pt are easy to hit , higher launch slightly softer than specified . definatly softer. these in farways are bloody good. all GD shafts ive stuck in FWOODS play really well . i think i like these more than the md series. bit more feel. i still see oodles of them in fwds here , they were a huge hit . good shafts indeed. Spoon
the pt8 was a monster in my 4w. i miss that combo! i agree the GDs are awesome in FWs. they are utterly stellar, i am yet to find a better , value for money shaft than this. in Drivers there are better. in woods, havent found anything to kick out the GDs. in fact im thinking about shafting my ryoma with a Gd 9003s shaft when i get the head
supo
thats what i got p9003x in it . its a howitzer. AND it actually feels good too. the p9003x i find is a bit on th dull side, but in the ryoma it aint! that thing is massive. thsoe pt series shafts for the money are money chaps, really good fw shafts

It is stiff but not as stiff as the shaft i use now in my 3-wood.

Like you, my basement or attic (depending on where I am) is full and need to clear a lot of items to make room. Thanks and looking forward to seeing the wedge again.
