Spoon
CRAZY BLACK NEW CB-80 80 TON CARBON 7.7 SX guys can anyone tel me the playing characteristics of this shaft? it says NEW CB80 on shaft. the ones in the Proshop say NOIR so im assuming this is an older model. friend offering it to me and am considering pulling the trigger if it suits my style. thanks and would appreciate the info. thinking of either putting this in my spare head or upcoming ryoma 3w
gocchin
Same shaft as the current 80LS Noir. Right before they launched the new Black, Nero, Noir lines they had renamed the 80 to New CB80, but then they changed it to properly fit in with the current lines. Spoon
Ok guys I just found outbthatthe shaft is tipped 1inch How would this affect playability? I know shafts can be tipped A bit but surely 1 inch seems a bit excessive don't ya think? Let me know I don't want my first crazy driver shaft to be a bad experience. Thanks

Kasco is on the chopping block. Do you think tipping 1 inch is excessive For. 3w? 1 inch tipping on a 7.7sx could bring Flex to an x. Maybe stiffer. I like my fw shafts an s at mist, sx would be smack on z borderline Or I can get a f7m2 or di7s, those are half the price. A One Inch tip cut on a Crazy or a Quadra is nuts!! When you get out the saw and cut off 30% of a very well engineered tip is actually detuning the Shaft. The tips on both Crazy/Quadra make these wonderful Shafts really perform as designed.....then you spend big $$$$$ and then detune the Shaft by tipping. That's CRAZY!! Both Crazy/Quadra Shaft Companies have a huge selection of Shafts to choose from that can match your needs.

AMEN to that! that is what i figured. i remembered our talk back about not tipping shafts and that tipping changes the characteristics by a lot and would ruin the original design of the shaft. thanks again gary! gocchin
Especially on the 80LS which has an extremely thin and sensitive tip... 1 inch would its characteristics and feel.
