Eca
I like soft in irons, I like a bit of power crisp Sound without being tooloud with the driver.
shacco
Haven't come across many that said Yamaha drivers are not good feeling. Well, can't say anything about the 2008 Model. But my 2010 V201 sure is soft and muted. Love the feeling of that driver.
+TourSpecGolfer
For me it's the Epon 460ZR or Technity. That said I can't get away from the Ryoma.
potuna
So the Ryoma's and Epon are soft/ muted?
potuna
What's the feel/sound of the Jbeam/Crazy heads?
JGalls
Pete Maybe the yonex ezone? Not sure how the 420 and 460 are but the 380 sounded/felt persimmon. I'd like to try the 420 as the 380 didn't quite fit my eye.

supo
yea. and the jbeams are extrememly muted and dull sounding/feeling but the ball goes miles.
+TourSpecGolfer
Like T said feel is very subjective. Soft to me feels very different than mute. For my taste buds mute can also be firm. how about metallic, crunchy, tink, pop, hollow. With so many designs and materials it get's rather confusing very fast. I don't consider the Ryoma uber soft like the 460ZR but I do sense a metallic yet muted sensation to it.
Spoon
the 460 zr is marchmallow soft, like the ball gets compressed before being slung. hard to describe its like hitting a rubberized ball, sound is not a loud pop more of a metallic thud. now the jbeams for me were muted, very muted but chris is right its not soft. actually crispy. imagine a hollow dense feeling tin can that has cotton inside to mask the sound. it muted but should feel like a nike sasquatch minus the annoying sound. robbie
totally agree on the 460zr, that driver really absorbed the ball and sent it out there.....I didnt get my longest drives with it but it definitely was a joy to hit and very forgiving ! robbie
If my Kamui Ray could only feel and sound like the epon 460zr, then i would have the ultimate driver !!! As for now i have to settle for distance forgiveness and the perfect trajectory ! ( hehe maybe the ryoma or Yamaha will be perfect )

idrive
Played my AF152 w/Crazy LY-02 yesterday. Completely different feel, sound, everything compared to the Ryoma. Not nearly as muted. Louder, not loud but any sound is louder than the Ryoma. Felt really soft to me. I'd forgotten how nice a combo this is.
potuna
Well I guess I gave up on the Yamaha too soon. I traded it to Doc for a sweet Onoff stand bag, I hit the Yamaha with a house of forged shaft in it and was very impressed. Still a firm face but it felt and sounded good and the flight was great. I'm going to find a Epon head to try next.
Robb40
I have the Yonex 380 right now and it has a sweet feel to it. It is soft but I still can tell when I hit the center of the clubface. Great driver. i hope to keep this one as it has the potential to be a beast in dry conditions. Now if you want max carry with little roll then stay away from this one. Mid launch is the best i can do but the rollout is great and should be even better when it warms up here in Ky. Not nearly as muted. Louder, not loud but any sound is louder than the Ryoma. Felt really soft to me. I'd forgotten how nice a combo this is. Hmmm, we seem to have the same drivers/ shaft combo. Cracked my Ryoma ( on cb46 shaft ) last week & had to send i back to be replaced. So been using my ' old ' epon AF 102 on LY. I forget how sweet ths thing is to hit - solid sound, like the old titliest, but felt so soft........almost didnt think it could go that far. Still, the eopn is 20-25 yards shorter than my ryoma. +TourSpecGolfer
I agree with idrive on the Epon 152. That is the closest I have found to the 460ZR so far. If you like mute the Yonex 380 feels excellent. Jbeam's are also firm great feel as well.
