supo
I also got to hit the ryoma FW for the first time on sat. un fortunatly they didnt have any shafts that suited my swing, but i got the general idea.. i was fortunate that i was hittting a few fariway woods at the time and i was deciding whether to play the egg spoon roddio m7 ......... or the yamah v14 stinger for sundays match, when i got the call up to go hit the ryomas if u put 2 grey dots on the crown ............., and put the club head in the water..........., im sure most folks, would mistake the ryoma fw wood for.......................... a stingray......................................! its that sleek and full. very differnt to what im used to looking at. in al lhonesty i wasnt even fazed when this came out i didn t even look at it at all. it made no sense. i had the yammys and i had the egg no point. all bases covered so i let it go unnoticed. till craig said hey u hit this yet? ,if not you might wanna give it a try.. that peeked my intererest just a tad. but not enough to warrant another expenditure, so i let it slide. well...if the special tuning driver was jawdropping the 3 wwas eye opening... rem i d just hoit a bout 30 fw woods when i git the call so i was pretty au fait with what my clubs can do.. then i hit a normal shafted ryoma. bang got one dead mid with a draw to hammer the back fence. hang on thatcant be right can it ? and another.. and naothe .. and another.. then of course what comes out of the bag the old supu steep angle of decent and kabang all but idiot marked it, straight up 100000000 feet and down no mor than 100 meters. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. of course no one looked less shocked than me at this, i got one of thsoe, nad a hossel rocket on me at ALL times... ryoma san tho , well his eyes nearly popped out of his head after the first 4 shots. immedialty i handed him the club back and said " yea thought so " to a very puzzled look. after dismissing it so overtly my attention to it returned when i recommenced hitting my fws in my net. nah they ant as long, BUT they suit my swing immeasuably better. plus the shaft iwas hitting want for me at all... the ryoma was noticeably long. it felt better to hit than the egg. but i cant say definitively bec the shaft was a bit sloppy... i didnt like the shape of the head it wa sitting way off the ground lie wise. nor the extra sleekness of it, im sure this wasnt made designed for somelike me tho. the people that it was desiged for tho finally have a legitiimate competitor to the granf yokozuna of fws the egg spoon this thing is LONG.....! chiromikey
thanks for the info! was it the f2 or f3...and how was the trajectory?
supo
f3 i think it was . i cant say really about the traj bec the shaft was a string of spagetti i had to swing slow to get it but it was high to mid high, when i had a good old whack it was really high. a new roddio m7 in this thing and kaboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom i can see par 5 greens in 2 all day with that combo . chiromikey
we're you hitting off the deck? how was the turf interaction?
xerobound
Great stuff. The Ryoma Fairway Woods are very hot! The f2 gets up like a normal 5wood. It is designed for slower swing speeds. The stock shafts are designed for smooth, slower tempo swings. Not very flashy design, it is like a sleeper club that gets that extra pop that no one expects! This thing is very good out of tight lies, I don't think its the best thing in longer grass because of the large area of contact with the turf. supo
can see why.. its prob perfect for him. i ahve issues with sleek faced clubs anyway.. even the egg gets under my nose most times, as much as i love it i dont like thin faces. i much prefer the yamahs looks or eps the RC new model ,THAT thing looks incredible
Chanaa
I am the 2% who cant play this wood. Keep topping the F2, flies too high & short. Strage i know as my rc bbd vs tours is easy to hit & goes miles. Guess i have to dust it off and try again.

Spoon
if you decide to sell, pm me for first dibs! i cannot play this club as well. i find the shape a bit to pancake like and although i can hit it well off any fairway the looks just dont suit me plus i would never ever hit this off the tee. i would skyball the hell out of my egg what more this one? it has its intended market just not me

Spoon
Played yesterday and Think I am done with 14deg woods. I have the Yamaha 14 and can only hit this off the tee, so inconsistent off the fairway, get low Worm burners, will give the Ryoma another shot and although I have had not Much success off the tee I think I will just tee it lower. What do you have your Ryoma fws woods shafted with?
supo
this was a funny chance meeting thats ryoma relevant..., i was playing yesterday at my home course in japan and we were the last group off at 10.00 am . yes u read that right tee times here form 730-10am thats it. so on 16 we were told to pull over and let the seniors comp guys come thru. no probs. i turned to get my kasco out of my bag for the short par 4 and i heard "stewart-san ?" i turned back in utter amazement to see "ryoma-san" beaming at me. what u doing. i asked ? "oh im in the match play mens final club champs right now , "were just finishing a 36 hole final" "oh hey is that the ryoma i sent u on thursday he asked.. " "yup." "sugoi ne!, ( excellent !!!) " yes its is i replied its a littele on the stiff side but this thing KILLS the ball. first game just breaking it in. "ganabatta ne.. (good luck)" same i replied yes my new ryoma d-1 202 gram 9.5* square headed, / shingo spec m6 proto 2010 shafted beast! yes this is the new one. nad its humongously long, the extra weight make all the differnce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they were being , followed by a flock of blazer wearing membe officials and a cpl of compulsory kawaii girls. he teed off .. i turned to see what he was using in his bag .... ryoma black d1 with STOCK dg 65 s made for ryoma shaft driver and the f2 similar shafted stock shaft. he killed his f2 form the tee to a point where you could not walk down and place it any better about 260 ish. great tee shot when they played thru i teed my kasco 12.8* FD stinger X shafted weapon and hit it to just about the exact spot he was . i KILLED mine. cudnt hit it any better high soaring draw. hes prob 50-53 yrs old ish id think and he clobbered the regualr shafted f2. that got me thinking. bec i m sure faster harder than him and we re wre no more than 5-10 yards apart , at most! his was a great flight not low not too high and all carry. he went on thwin the final 3 and 2 so i just learned ryoma san is the club champ at my home club AND he practices what he preaches! yes the ryoma fw is a hell of a club! valante
My buddy got the F2, he fitted with an irruda shaft, and the combo its not that impressive, i think because of the weight placement on the head didnt match with shaft with soft tip. tou, he hit it around 260yards on the fairway. but no consistancy, he hit his beres with the same length and cpm, everything without ever fail. But not as long as the f2. need to reshaft it. f2 is very looong
+TourSpecGolfer
Egg II is for sure longer than the RBZ and easier to hit. The Ryoma can keep up with the Egg II provided you got the right shaft. I sold my Egg for no good reason. I need to shaft my Ryoma F2 up as with the stock shaft I don't get that FW80 straight shot Love so much.

Spoon
im done with the ryoma f3. its a great club it just does not suit my style. it doesnt set up to my liking and i dont like the hollow feel so much. i know that the large sole, shallow face and hollow feel are a function of its design but i could not deal with it. the club obviously has its intended market i just dont think i am it. my cousin on the other hand tried it on a couple of holes and he loves it. offered to purchase it from me there and then. we are almost the same age and have the same ss so it boils down to personal preference.
