supo
again i was ranging last night. and to my surprise, i doscoverd the ryoma id re-built was longer,,,way longer than i like nad can play well. i got the feeling things werent as they seem , the 202 gram head was built to bring the spin down and flight down, which it did perfectly. but the hosel must be very high on the club (?) in the ryoma bec the shaft in this makes the club very long and its just a stock 110cm shaft 202 gram head crazy ls noir 7.7 45.375+ inch driver come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no way, no wonder i was struggle street with it and the same length shingo spec shaft 3 weeks ago u need to be king kong to hit this well! damn this is miles too long. i measured it agaisnt the kp-x and its like looking at pw vs a 3 iron. i was on the red prgr head speed timer thing and the SS was 107 wit the kp-x and 103 wit hthe ryoma ball speed was 154 VS 152 at 103 with both heads ( kp-x over ) didnt like the result ,this shaft was perfect i nthe 198 gram . ryoma last yr. wasnt overly long , but jeewhizz i got it straight. totally relaible. things need to change so to my bat cave . what wonders are hidden. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh haaaaaaaaaaaa how about a diamana X 70 s ?? hmmmmmmmmmm. pondering this all morning i think this is the answer . 44.625 inch driver. build. thing is tho. if i cut this shaft to that length it will have to stay there bec by the looks of things the shaft need cutting a lot in this head. and in "normal" heads this will be a ver yshort driver indeed. its a big ask. but i think this head deserves the best shaft, no? ponderage..., decision today Edited July 23, 2012 by supo67

idrive
Wish I'd have snapped a picture of the look on your face when you saw how much longer it was (than you thought) when you set it up next to the Kamui.
supo
Yea i was stunned but the thing was i was hitting the kamui way longer and geting it on the screws a hell of a lo more i think i just play short better these days
Blader-X
Well as Lebron said, "its about damn time!" What's it been two weeks since you dismantled a perfectly good driver and swapped a few shafts in it? I'd been getting bored re-reading all the same old posts.! Not sure if I'm ready to follow you though on the shorter shaft concept. I play 46.25" in the Yonex and Epon 102 and will have the Kamui built at that as well. For me it works, but if it doesn't with the Kamui, I'll of course cut it down a little.
robbie
i followed u on the shorter stick but i had to go long with my yammie because the head weight is light.........im hitting both pretty well right now so i can decide....hmmmmm maybe ill bag 2 drivers and dump the 5 wood ! supo
Thats what i do a lot ive got a short 9' and a stock 45 9.5 for having a lash with ususaaly the yamha tour and the yonex ezone in oz as the 3 wood is irrelevant at home the short yonex is a good foil
sandee11
Just build a ryoma vspec cb46 @45.5", will see how it goes tomorrow. Currently playing crazy 435ll/cb46 @45.5", very long! Hopefully the ryoma can be on par or better!

robbie
which small foil do u prefer the yammy tour or the yonex ?
Blader-X
Is this Ryoma a 9.5? or 8.5? Pondering myself that maybe its time to have a Ryoma just to complete the four horseman of drivers (for me). Thinking as well maybe its time to see that this Crazy shaft lunacy is all about as well. supo
Both the yonwx and rhe ryoma ive found aretops at really shortt length. Remwmber its 100pct abt accuracy distance is an added bonus
Blader-X
That's exactly what I find with the Yonex 380. The GD P9003x goes a long way to help with that but this combo really sends the ball out on a tight line.
RIduffer
I play the Ezone 380 at 9* with the P9003x at 45". Choked down a little, thing is bananas.
supo
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...., no one can say i dont try things, and some of them might be weird unusual and down right dumb, but i gotta know! range balls and drivers equal shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiity results. not doing that any more the on course results are so so so so so much better than the range crapola. the built, , then re built , and finally rebuilt agn ......,heavier ryoma driver equation HAS been solved for me. finally. the crazy 80 ls noir in 7.7 (one flex weeker ,but 4 gram heavier head) more difficult to get completey right, every drive, but the added distance is so noticebale. and a welcome addition to a perfeect combination.. THE best idea is id prob have the head @ 200 witht he same shaft then the slight toe drives / shots would still go pretty centre not block right, this combo is the winner winner chiccken dinner . head + shaft= a perfect combiation of distance, feel and flight. i got a cpl out of the centre of the centre, adn i assure you this combo IS as long as anything . i stretched the envelope JUUUUUUUUUUUUST to the end of its teather for me ,and i do have to go at it 90% + on every shot, beceause if i leave it hangin... slicemans dead ! basically if ur loking at a good combo the nthis shaft head = delightful all round results, just get the right flex , and with this shaft u can easily play one flex less.. NO probs what so ever.. ryoma equation.... SOLVED. QED. Edited July 23, 2012 by supo67

supo
its not as consistant yet but i only just got it wired o nthe weekend after 2 days play, sunday i was giving it heaps and it loved it. stil ldont htink itll get the major bag spot. but there are some course i play where this is perfect... the kpx p9003x will always get a "travelling bag spot beci t s 44.5 inch and offers a degree of length ranges that full length drivers dont give. i can see myself playing 2 drivers regularly again with the kpx being the 2nd and the 3wood nad FD missing out.
