cant believe i havent seen this yet. T, let us know when you get the demo!

sounds like a dream as i found the original too light and shallow.

i like this one, as others have commented 16-17* would be perfect.

stew sounds like this will dethrone your venerable Inpres xv 14*

OMG...yes please!!

The thing that stands out for me is that they not only made it deeper faced and heavier, they actually changed the face material which appears to make it more hot.

It's 0.81 COR is only surpassed by Ryoma's FW.

Apparently most fairway woods average around 0.73ish for COR meaning there is much more spring effect from the Egg Spoon HD and Ryoma FW.

comment_183352

Are the Ryoma and new EGG legal? And why wouldn't all companies maximize the COR in fairways if it's doable?

I don't get it...

comment_183355

i believe the Callaway ERC woods, specifically the 13 deg exceeded the COR

good point, not really worried about distance, just want it forgiving and a breeze to use off the tee!

we already know how it will be in the fairway. i wonder though if forgiveness is a little affected compared

to V2 because of the deeper profile.

For any wood, legal cor is 0.83 and under. The smaller the head the harder it is to increase the spring efficiency which is why its rare for FW's to have COR's that high.

I know for sure the ERC HOT drivers were non conforming but as far as I can remember the ERC FW's were conforming.

I don't know of any mainstream Japan model that has been non conforming.

comment_183361

I can't (yet) get passed the look of these.

comment_183362

i may remember incorrectly but at the time, it was the only non-conforming fw wood

* there are a few references on google referring to the ERC 3+ wood as nonconforming by USGA

That would make sense as non conforming ERC's were marked with the +

Got my hands on ver 2 eggspoon and used it for first time yday. Holy crapola what a club! Hadnt hit one, but heard good things and was blown away. Dont think I've ever hit anything as forgiving or long. Wasnt just me impressed - the two guys I played with BOTH offered to buy from me then and there. No dice! Have to say am dead impressed. Longer and more forgiving ver 3 is insane!!

Agree with Robbie - means am gunna need a bigger driver...

Is this with the same managing steel in the current egg spoon but only thinner?

I can believe it. I have the EGG Seven and the ball just absolutely rockets off the face. Haven't seen anything like it... seriously.

It's 59* with a stock length of 43". 1* flatter than the 2nd gen, same as the 1st.

They went with a different maraging face. Different material and slightly thicker in the middle to compensate for stronger swings but thinner towards the outside for more spring effect.

Spoon HD in the house!

Noticeably deeper, considerably heavier.

Slightly more compact thanks to the higher face.

Face feels more hot!

Just finished snapping pics... here is one to share!

I will be posting a side by side comparo.

There are some visual differences as well.

A Matte black finish with no paintfill for the egg word.
