well thats a pr-gr spelt incorrectly..

well noted sir........,

I gotta get back at ya somehow after whoopin my a** on the Golf Course........ ;)

Anyway, after a bit of a mix up I'll have my HD in a couple of days and am shafting it with a Quaddra FEX. As much as I loved the

FW80 in the original Egg Spoon I'm hoping to get a bit more height with this shaft. I'm also hanging onto an I'lima for an even higher

trajectory if the FEX isn't up where I'm hoping.

Got a Ilima 70s in my original Egg Spoon. If you want height, this thing will do the job.

  • 2 weeks later...

per Tarios suggestions, I ordered mine with the 65s fubuki upgrade and received the club early last week.

I am coming from a Titleist 910F which has a much smaller profile so keep that in mind.

After 2 range sessions and 36 holes later this club is an absolute beast. of course i am still in the honeymoon phase but i absolutely love hitting this club.

Setup: this is really the only draw back of the club. Supo mentioned this earlier that the toe points up to the sky very noticeably. For me, this causes the club face to look and setup closed which at times leads me to a power draw (no duck hooks yet). however, that having been said, i can very easily control the club face at impact so i have had no real issues with trying to create fades.

Impact: just awesome. it feels as if i can sense the compression of the ball at impact and the sound is spectactular.

Distance/trajectory: i am a med to high ball hitter and was able to hit high and low trajectory shots. distance on this club was ridiculous. I dont swing too fast (106 mph avg) with a 265 driver carry. This 3 wood was carrying 250 off the tee easy with about 5-10 yards roll out. off the fairway it was a little less with about a 235 carry.

as of right now, i have NO regrets with paying 600 +USD for this club.

Did you own the previous model???

If so, how is the weight compared to the previous?

I have put lead tape on my egg to make it heavier (just one strip behind the head below the 'egg'.

I was using it on Saturday off the tee, but only had 2 decent drives with it (wasnt using a tee), just off the grass if I could find any on our tees!

How does the new one go when using a tee? How high are you teeing it?

How does it go off the deck? or even from light rough?

Thanks.

  • i did not own the previous model. i specifically inquired about the 2nd gen but the lightweight prevented me from buying it.

  • perhaps half an inch off the ground
  • i was able to hit high and med trajectory shots off the tee.

  • off the deck trajectory is lower than off the tee. i have not tried this club from the light rough yet.

Thanks.

Okay.... I had the original Egg Spoon, 15*. Stock shaft was okay but nothing special. Installed the Crazy FW80 and

the club just came alive. For me it was the best FW in every way I'd ever owned.

New HD - stock shaft:

The slightly larger size appears (to me) much larger. Inspires more of a I can't miss it sensation.

Sound, no more KaTink, sounds more KaTank, much better sound IMO

Feel, I can't believe how much more solid it feels. More sledgehammer like. Feels more dense..... I'm assuming the extra

weight has a lot to do with it.

Performance, Maybe it's the honeymoon period but this is a noticeable improvement in every aspect. My confidence with

this club just increases every time I hit it. Off the tee it's almost as long as my Driver.

I'm in love. I have 2 different shafts I was going to put in and try but.... I think I'm going to wait just a bit as the stock shaft is

"doing it" right now. I wouldn't mind a bit more height (trajectory) but I hate to even mess with it. I'm sure I'll put the FEX in soon

but.... dang.....

Only thing I wish is it was 1-2* flatter lie angle. I'm chocking it about an inch+ which helps bring the lie a bit more flat. At 43" length

it doesn't seem to do anything but make it even easier to hit. With the distance I'm getting chocking down is not hurting it.

Did I mention I'm in love?????
