Posted August 20, 201212 yr comment_185127 As above, I got two wedges I need to shaft and was wondering what's everyone's thought?? One is a 51* GW which full and semi full swing are use so looking for stability and spin while the other one is 57* SW for sand and semi swing so looking for high launch, feel and spin. A couple of brand names comes to mind but just wondering any feedback from real users out there on the below: Nippon S Pro WV Shimada K Wedge Shimada Tour Wedge DG Spinner KBS Tour Thoughts??
August 20, 201212 yr comment_185130 I've had 3 on that list KBS, Spinner and the Nippon WV115's ... For me the best in feel , flight and Spin was the WV's ... By miles!
August 20, 201212 yr Author comment_185131 Thanks Dale - you use it for your gap or sand wedge? or both?
August 20, 201212 yr comment_185132 I used it for both AW and SW, was trying to maintain the same feel...!
August 20, 201212 yr comment_185133 shhhhhhhhhitttttte.. ive hit all of htose..! ilike he spinner for the lob wdge . BUT thats it the wv i liked a lot i thought they got a ton of spin. the shimada tour are just good ,cant htink of what the do or dont do, the just kinda feel ok, and spin ok, and they arnt high nor low and not heavy nor light. weird shafts they just "are" and their " "is very playable, so much so i have t hese in my tourstage marus. i dont put garbage in those i assure you..! the shiamda ks are to light for me. but my mate hits his i na yururi and he wont letthat wedges out of his sight. so they gotta be ok. kbs tour black nickel.. like the feel. but htey go a long way. these are 1 club longer than my other wedges. ive got em in my kyoei rafw 01s massive buckets..! use them in big wind back home, they go damn fine! the pick ?? hmmm the ns wv or the shimmda tour... ill go the NS
August 20, 201212 yr Author comment_185136 Interesting feedback Stew..... seem like the way to go. Now to see if anyone wanna sell me theirs lol Wonder of Carlo got any feedback as I know he is into irons/ wedges shafts as well??
August 20, 201212 yr comment_185137 Great topic. Actually, I'm looking for the same but with on little additional wish. Since, I play ns pro gh950 s shafts, the wedge shafts can't be too heavy. Suggestions? Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
August 20, 201212 yr Author comment_185138 Well I know Nippon S Pro WV shaft comes in three different weights.
August 20, 201212 yr comment_185148 man, its all about the feel with those. i know alot of people believe otherwise but reality is there is very little difference between wedge shafts in terms of launch, spin, trajectory etc. your swing has the most impact on that. say if i'm hitting it super high due to swing flaw you can give me the stiffest wedge shaft you can get and i'm still gonna hit it just as high. pick whatever is good tradeoff for your swing so you can have the feel you like on both full pitch and small chip shots and you gonna be happy with it.
August 20, 201212 yr comment_185168 Purpose built Wedge Shafts are tuned to handle little flip shots, bunker play and lofted pitch shots from around the green AND they do this very well. Now consider this.....when you hit most of your Wedge approach shots from the Fairway/Rough, I suggest that you buy a 8 Iron or 9 Iron Shaft to put in your Wedges. This little tweak might surprise you with very controlled (non-ballooning or too high launch) shots while offering tight dispersion and feel. The wonderful sole designs of today's Wedges will definitely take advantage of using a 8 or 9 Iron Shaft. Makes sense when you think about it....All of my Wedges are built and tuned this way and have become a strong and confident part of my game.

Not a fan of the purpose made Wedge shaft. can't say I use an 8-9 iron, usually get a few extra iron shafts and have them built using the #10 shaft...
August 21, 201212 yr Author comment_185206 For gap wedge I'm also thinking of picking up a #8 or #9 iron to use but for those lob and sand wedges I'm thinking of one with more active tip for those quick stop...
August 21, 201212 yr comment_185211 goodsie i heard this very recently as well. ive tried lots of differnt kinds of shaft in the wedges. the latest manifestation is the DGspinner in the lob wedge or the 950 s NS, for pop. the gap and sw ive gone to the really heavy X stiff monacco and NS 2s14 and........... iv found im getting them much better and more accuracy with the stronger heavier shafts.. in the lob wedge tho. fahget it i need something light nad flippy. or i cant get any spin form in close. hoping this spinner shaft does the trick
August 21, 201212 yr comment_185225 my wedge shafts have not changed in over a year. spinner + in gap and spinner wedge in 58. love them. also have 2 back up Tour concepts which were the older version of the monacos. will try these on my next set of wedges!
