IshikawaFAN
Word from Nippon was they play similar to orange prototypes. How do all of these shafts compare to Modus 3?

Spoon
i have. these are just your basic proto further tweaked for specific players requests i think kevin staedler is playing these. and Sergio garcia won the Wyndham championship with this last week. he shifts to protos and wins!!! sergio has been a px player all his life. Good move for him and hope he wins more

IshikawaFAN
When I hear prototype, that just means low or lower spin with actual launch or lower launch of the shaft they plan to release to the public. How do Modus 3 stack up against all these proto shafts? Ora better than Modus or is it basically the same shaft with less or more spin etc? Totally confused with this brand now. Spoon
the guy is coming from hardstep px 7.0-7.5 these are beefier ORAs with lower spin. the x was too soft. cmon the guy plays a 105x in his driver and 105x in his fairway woods. the normal protos in x would be like noodly Edited August 23, 2012 by Spoon
IshikawaFAN
From what I remember he played a whiteboard 83 in his driver and 6.5 in his irons. Flex doesn't matter when you compare the characteristics of a shaft. Pros have excellent technique and high swing speeds but in reality a lot of them weigh 190lbs+ or play shorter clubs for more control and accuracy. As a result they need heavier stiffer shafts. If most of us played on the PGA we would probably avg 15-20 yards more due to the carpet fairways on tour. Accuracy and control are the key out there. Serg has a whiteboard 83x labeled but it was really a 105x.
landshark
prob wouldn't matter what shaft sergio is playing in his irons. his iron control and ballstriking have generally been very good, it's hit putting is what's hindered him from his potential. IshikawaFAN
ok, so safe to say ORA is what(better?) VS modus 3?
supo
no.... not neccessarily, the flight is what counts ,personally i dont like the look / feel of the oras as much as say the 1150s. or especially the modus. its a very perosnal thing. asi tried to explain in my diagrams. +TourSpecGolfer
I'm late to the party on all these steel shafts. Still waiting to try the modus3 as soon as my custom VG3's come in.
IshikawaFAN
Modus 3 is a fun shaft. Control with the short clubs is funky but the performance with the long irons is worth it. The kick is growing on me.
ant
never heard they made wb 100+g, bb yes and i have one in my 3w. or is it only by custom one off kinda orders for tour players ? seen 100+g gd ad-di popup on ebay once but was too late to snatch it. jimmieboi
modus 3 is great. Much better than the 1150 GH. I just didn't like the red graphic on the shaft.
