Chuckgt3
Hey Guys, Need a little help.. Just got these: Ryoma V-Spec 9.5* Crazy CB80II Nero 7.4 Flex Tour Velvet Lite 45.00” Ryoma F2 13* Crazy FW80 7.4 Flex Tour Velvet Lite 42.50” D2 Hitting the f2 a ton and any shotshot shape I Hi but I just get anything consistent with the driver. I play to a 7 and the shafts are all match. Driver misses are right push or low pull with no distance. Have tried changing changing ball position, and tee height and more could it be driver length. Anyone have this happen or have any ideas? May just be the new club and/or a problem with me but looking How. daamartin
Sounds like you need a 10.5 in the Vspec. The Ryomas go low.....
wmclarenf1
You sound like you may not be getting enough spin with the V-spec which seems to have caught quite a few out, me included. If spin was enough even a push or pull will gothe distance. You can try going to a lower kick higher launching softer tip shaft but I think that can only help so much. If you want to stay with the V-Spec, going up to a 10.5 is probably the best bet.
Eca
With prior driver, were u a low tee'er? Room especially in 9.5 likes being teed up with a nice upswing On contact. If your a low tee'er it takes a little Time to change. Just because ur teeing it higher doesn't mean ur doing it right :) It's easy to expect the big bombs as u would with such a much talked About club but basically you need to let the excitement drop then grip down an inch and start at 70% more focusing on tempo and upswing contact. Mind if I ask your average SS & tempo?
gocchin
Hi Chuck, I asked for a description of the V-Specs performance in your email but I do see it here now. Definitely the 9.5* V-Spec should be tee'ed up and best hit on the up swing. I would personally tee it half a ball above the top of the driver. Do you find the shaft stiff in the Driver? Both shafts are 80t but they are a bit different the FW80 is very active in the tip and gives a nice healthy launch, the Nero provides more control while the FW80 is an actual distance beast. d*ch
Chuck, I had this setup Ryoma V-Spec 9.5* Crazy CB80II). Just sold the CB80II. My issue with this shaft was my swing speed is low. The only way was teeing high with the driver face really open and hit really hard. It was very difficult to keep doing that all the times. CB80II torque 7.4 torque is 3.2. Compare to Tour DI 6 – CB80II torque should be set lower than that. There is no standard for torque so before buying Crazy shaft, ask Trio or try the shaft. Wth Tario advice - I got Crazy LY-01 Long Hot Black and I like it much better. Hope this help! Edited September 30, 2012 by d*ch

xerobound
I think checking the flex would be a good place to start. If it feels too stiff (not getting any consistent feedback in your hands) consider a softer shaft with even a higher loft such as 10.5*. Too stiff of a shaft can cause too little spin in a driver and not prevent the ball from travelling the maximum distance. It would also feel harsh on your hands, especially on off center hits. Also, it seems you hit your F2 good, so check out the angle of attack at impact. A lot of players who can absolutely murder a fairway wood and struggle with a driver have very steep angles coming into the ball. With a lofted club such as a f2, the actual loft may be 13*, but you may be making contact at 10* because of the angle the clubface is coming into impact. This will produce a very powerful flight with woods, but you can see how if you start with a 9.5* and you deloft at impact, it may be 7* at impact and that may cause some issues. I haven't seen you hit a ball, but those are some things that I think may help you. :)
Chuckgt3
Thanks guys for all the feedback. I have tried alot of adjustments to tee height and even swing plane. I have not checked ss lately since a just had liver transplant and am trying to get the game back together. Currently a 6 iron is about 165. As mentioned the f2 is crazy long and ball flight is good but the d1 crazy combo is dead. Maybe it's the stiffness, maybe the 45 length. Not a shaft wiz and I know the cbii and fw80 are different but I am amazed at how different the f2 and d1 feel even with both using crazy 7.4 flex. Not sure what to do - thanks again for the feedback and I have emailed Tario and as usual he is great to be dealing with. Hi, If you're saying your 6I gets 165 YARDS, then 7.4 is way too stiff for you. I reckon you should be at a regular or SR at most which is a 6.4 or a 6.9 on Crazy's richter scale. I would say then that this setup, 9.5 and a 7.4 shaft is all wrong for you and if you want to stick to V-Spec, a 10.5 for a V-spec head with a SR or Stiff RD or a LY01 in 6.4 will be better. Just a thought.
