My one regret regardless of distance when I was in Tokyo 2 months a go. Dang it. Would have indeed been a dream

come true.

The Niigata trip is a tough one. Its about 4 hours from Tokyo by car and 1 hr and 37min by train and there is not much in Niigata besides the steel industry though there are some very nice traditional Ryokans (Japanese Inns) and onsen (hot springs).

I wish they would open up a big shop here in Tokyo!

would a day trip suffice?

too tough for a day trip.... the shinakansen is about 90+ mins then the local lines will take a while id guess.

come in winter and go skiing and do a day trip.. niigata has got the most incredible amount of snow

Day trip is tough man but it could be done if you go early in the morning and come back the evening.

My wife and I arrived the day before stayed over night, enjoyed the local sights and food and hot springs.

Went to the endo the next day morning with TSGolfer and Girl, toured the shop and the factory and facilities, had meetings and then out for a late lunch with the Endo execs then caught the train back to Tokyo mid to late afternoon.

Yea EPON HQ is a cool place to visit but after a couple of hours your pretty much done. Shinkansen ticket isn't cheap either.

Crazy for sure has the best experience for a JDM fanatic if you want a great experience.
