Radeon962
What is used to hold the TM weight port (500 series) in the cavity?? There is a clear adhesive on the weight port with a peel off backing, but I thought you were also supposed to use epoxy or something similar along with the adhesive already on the weight port. Thanks, Bill
phillypete
I really have limited experience with the TM drivers but from what I have read on these forums it is mainly a pressure fit. there is allegidly a special extraction/installation tool supplied by TM to valued club builders... whoever got you the extra weight should also have access to the tool. doc
I've heard that it only takes a little bit of dishsoapy water to release the weight port. Just put some in, and it should work itself out. This is with some of the retail models, but maybe not tour issue heads.
Radeon962
Taking them out is the easy part... drill a small hole in the plastic body (between the rods) and then screw in a screw a ways and grab hold of the screw with a pair of pliers, exert some pressure and it should pop out. I was looking more for some info on installation of the weight port as I have a brand new, unused one that I am going to put in a TM 540 Tour head. The weight port has a "wrapper" on it and when peeled off there is an adhesive of some type on the weight port. I did not know if this adhesive already on the weight port was sufficient to hold it in or if some additional epoxy or similar materail was needed?? I have heard that the "sticky stuff" used to hold the weight port in is similar to the stuff used by Callaway to hold the medallians on the back of the X14 irons. You can pop them off and then stick them back on. Bill

Peel off the paper on the new weight and apply...stays in there without any problems or so I've read numerous times. I intend to do it myself on my R500. haribo
I put a strip of lead tape over the weight plug. Just to be safe. :D haribo
Buddy
Where did you get the port ? I understand some preferred TM club fitters have them available. I intend to purchase mine via the original seller of my R500...he is the owner/operator of another golf board.

yogi
My buddies fell out now too. All that holds the port in is some 2 sided tape. Im going to epoxy it back in. I really am not sold on the club either. G
