ukok
Lying it down in the boot of my car, snaaaaap, I know Crazy shafts have a reputation for being fragile but this is ridiculous!!!!!! Crazy Prototype S-531B, used only thrice purchased from a member of the forum, one time pull (TM adaptor). Looking at the shaft cannot believe how thin it is. Lesson learned, only new and never a prototype.
zwan
That hurts big time! I feel for your loss. Can't you get in touch with Tario and figure out some kind of deal? At least I would give it a try.
gocchin
It has nothing to do with being a prototype. All crazy shafts are thinner in the tip section and the nature of all high modulus shafts are that they are more fragile. Glass particles in the carbon vs rubber particles in lower end carbon. However simply breaking like that is kind of hard to fathom, just look at the break in the picture and the splints that would require some force. Send it back to us, I will try and get warranty coverage for you.

+TourSpecGolfer
That has nothing to do with Crazy if it broke near center like that.
ukok
That has nothing to do with Crazy if it broke near center like that. Well, unless I play the shortest driver in the world, it's far from the centre. I would suggest nearer the kick point? To say it has nothing to do with Crazy without seeing it is a bit blase especially as almost no force was used when laying it down, hence the word fragile. Do you have Golfer's insurance? If yes, I think you can file a claim for shaft replacement under that. I had to do that once but not becuase a shaft snapped from laying it down normally... i dropped my bag and the driver hit a stair... bizarre .. Good luck with your replacement. +TourSpecGolfer
Your right, we dont know and it could be hard for them to judge as well. Was it a snap sound or did it just break apart? Looks like a pretty clean break from the pics. Every break we have seen came from above the ferrule usually when leaning on the club, hitting the ground or during transport. Buying new is definitely worth it for the warranty We've never seen anything like this before. Good luck we will try to get them to replace it for you. The break seems to be in the same position to mine which is unusual? Your right, we dont know and it could be hard for them to judge as well. Was it a snap sound or did it just break apart? swisstrader
Is it possible cold weather is the culprit here? I doubt it but just a thought.

+TourSpecGolfer
Such a pretty course! Sorry about the shaft. Crazy's warranty policy is you have to be the 1st owner who purchased it brand new and it broke from normal use. We word it with them pretty carefully. No guarantee's all we can say is we try even if your not the 1st owner.

Spoon
ive snapped around 4 shafts in my life and its always when i am hitting the actual club. the fracture point is usually above the ferrule. i am yet to see any other shaft break other than this point above the ferrule. either heavy heavy load is imparted on the shaft for it to snap a foot above the ferrule or its a defective shaft.
