Posted October 22, 201212 yr hang on, before someone else does... bec icant find the smiley thing.... ill start this with..... ******* this thread is worthless without pics ********. i guess you all cant really imagine my smile when one of my favourite small time clubmakers moved shop to less than 1/2 kilometer form my house. and then multiply that by a gazzillion when he decided to make me........ a prototype 6 iron blade.... to take to oz over christmas................, to test....... and a 2 wood and a driver............... unfortunatly i cant show piccys of the head but put it like this my jaw dropepd at its shape. no words till i get in mid dec. and hit it but it looks really, really good.. somewhere in between the yonex ezone back and the roma-ro head shape. NO offset. true blade. beautiful lines no mumbo jumbo on the back weighted to MY specs and my loft ; lie its a true proto. gee i hope it plays ok.... bec im very excited.. i wil say thier drivers play very very nicely mine is 11*... its getting a P9003x. its got humongous carry! btw.... they USED to make heads for crazy. and ryo ishikawa so i guess ........ they gott be ok huh.. well see.......... T u got any info on them ?
October 22, 201212 yr Does this company name starts with an A and end with a D? You mean AFD? I thought the brand name was Solid Contacts?
October 22, 201212 yr R, the company name is in fact Solid Contacts however they are now known as Fuso Dream. They also produce the Buchi wedges/irons/putters. Very small brand. When I last checked the Solid Contacts made Crazy 425 head was still available as we can get it through Crazy, Very good driver as Stew knows. Solid Contacts made irons and putters for Ryo-kun when he was an amateur and before he moved to Yonex. Here are some pics I took of the driver when I was at Crazy:
October 22, 201212 yr Well, that driver looks fantastic. So that is a different one compared to crz 425 tour?
October 22, 201212 yr Made by completely different companies. There is no CRZ425 Tour. That would be the Jbeam 425 Tour.
October 22, 201212 yr Author Thats the one.i have thst driver and its damn good they changed thier name? They still have solid contacts as thier name onthhe door Thier emblem is a sheep right Thier showroom is interesting looks like showsace forchanel But with 6 driving range.bays and clubs displayed everywhere Nice guys and the heads i saw i know already from other makers But the blades look good real good Wont know anymore till i can hit one They have ryos clubz all over the place No rush but when i can hit one ill have more to say
October 22, 201212 yr Casting my mind back to Ishikawa's first professional victory I seem to remember him having a Solid Contacts driver and putter in the bag, Yonex Irons + fairway and Vokey wedges...
October 22, 201212 yr In all my trawling through second hand golf shops in Japan I don't think I've ever seen a Solid Contacts branded club though
October 23, 201212 yr Supo, Are these the blades you are talking about? I've been eyeing these Buchi blades for a while now.
October 23, 201212 yr Author no... the ones he has are different.. il lask him if im allowed to pop a cpl of photos up. i have to go back in tonight to ask himn some driver questions anyway
October 24, 201212 yr Author goes very very well but the loft is veyr high .. im going to build it for winter where i think it will out perform a lot of other drivers... its butter soft and the ball seems to stick on the face for centuries. i happy gilmoured it in summer and it went 278 on the fly ddint move 1 millimeter after landing with a crazy cb46 7.4 shaft.. so distance on it is more than fine.... its just so high.. im thinking of going with a the GD p9003x in it to take some flight out... itried the crazy sigma but hte balance point was too high up th shaft and the swing weight came out too low even at 329 gram was c9...
October 24, 201212 yr Chris and I both assessed Buchi earlier this year and decided not to carry it until they get their quality up.
October 28, 201212 yr supo, did you manage to take any pictures ? true blade with full custom specs sounds very interesting unless of course they charge 3k+ a set that is.
October 29, 201212 yr Author nope boss man was out of the office . will try agn this week. i had a quick hit in the nets with thier cavity backs and they felt perfetly good , had dg tour issue in them ....., they LOOK .......... like they are done at kyoei but im not 100% sure...\anyway. ill see if he lets me take a few snaps
October 29, 201212 yr Chris and I both assessed Buchi earlier this year and decided not to carry it until they get their quality up. That is good to know, Gocchin. Was about to take the plunge on the Buchi blades. Perhaps Yamaha 2013 blades are what I need to get.
October 29, 201212 yr Author without even hesitating......... no matter how good these thigns turn out ....... id NEVR get these over the yams blades..... id get them as well................. but not over.. godd heavens NO...!
