tae
I hope Noboru don't mind this.... He introduced me a blade iron sets from Proto Studio. They look simple, classy, and elegant. I even talked Tario but he has not heard about it. He said he will find out more about them though. Proto studio claims that their carbon steel is softer than s20c and s25c. in fact, my friend in japan currently playing with them and said feeling and forgiveness are UNREAL. Just wondering if TSG can carry their product????? Only if they are worth it though..... Still waiting to hear from Tario. swisstrader
Stew has 12 sets but they are not in production as of yet;) p.s. they look stunning, but there is NO way a butter knife like that can be all that forgiving. nobmontana
T... Tae, I was gonna to keep it a secret!! lol just kiddin!! They actually have two types of MBs. One is a more traditional looking MB, the M-01 which they claim as slightly forgiving than traditional MBs. Then they have the Z-01 which are the No.1 irons in Rating Gate in the low to mid handicappers irons group. This model has a small air pocket internal to the muscle which increases the sweet spot significantly. They claim that these are significantly easier to hit than traditional MBs without sacrifice in feel. They also hold a patent for this air pocket construction made with one piece construction as opposed to two piece construction of most other air cavity irons. All made in Japan from raw steel material ( SS400 carbon steel made by Kobe steel ) to assembly. I am waiting for a response from them on whether they can sell head only. Looks like they only have direct sales route at this time.
bkkgolfer
Though it's different but it looks like Geotech's N-16 Forged irons...

nobmontana
Looked up some more info about their clubs, they actually may be OEM'd by a company called Fujimoto Gikoh in Hyogo , Japan. http://www.fujimotogikoh.co.jp/freepage_18_1.html I do see the two models made with SS400 in their line up. The one with the inner airpocket (Z-01), though the company claims that it retains the feel of traditional MB, users somewhat disagree. A few users of M-01 ( the non air pocketed version ) do mention that SS400 has the best feel of all MBs that they played in the past. really tempted to find out more about this SS400 carbon steel. Spoon
geotech-ish style blank head with sole minimal grind work on sole??
swisstrader
Would be a good candidate for our first "play it forward" club.
gocchin
It appears to be a catalog type open model head custom grinded. The company is pretty much unknown, I've never heard of the grinder. SS400 is about the equivalent of S18C but that does not necessarily mean its good quality. The hardness rating is just softer. SS400 is apparently commonly used in construction as rolled carbon steel and other manufacturing... not so common in golf clubs... readily available type of carbon steel. I think I will just drop in his shop and check it out.
nobmontana
Thanks for the additional info Gocchin! Let us know what you find out with their clubs. Especially around quality. I got an email back yesterday from them saying that they do not do head only sales due to safety reasons.
swisstrader
Safety reasons? Not sure what that means
MoreBeerBetterGolf
Maybe they are concerned that someone is going to forget to use epoxy
