Never had the Modus installed. Original order was for Modus3 however the S200 came in first and I didn't want to wait. Based on the reviews here, the Aerotechs were too tasty not to try. Spot on for throwing darts. Can't wait to take them on the course next Wednesday.

I have been playing tours with modus....

It's a very very good combo. I would say it is as good as personal + Monaco combo... at least for me:)

Is their a favorite between the two??

If I have to pick one, my choice would be epon personal.

I'm playing Personal / KB Tours and am waiting for ONOFF forged w/ Monacos.

I didn't do so well with Modus in a couple of sets recently.

Hi Bob,

May I know your HS? I'm about to pull trigger for Aerotech 95i R + Personal as well but not sure it's the right flex for me. Found Personal PW in Monaco S uncomfortably heavy for me and Personal 7i in Modus3 S was great, but a bit distance help and a little graphite whip feeling would be nice. So Aerotech should be my right choice.

Thx,

Mark

Aerotech shafts report.

Flex - Bought R flex and I am glad I did. Play S in steel sets.

Spent significant time with these yesterday. I can't say it enough.

THESE ARE THE MOST ACCURATE IRONS TO DATE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Maybe not the softest. Maybe not as easy as a cavity back iron. But damn these are lasers. Point and shoot.

You have quite a bag set up there.... Wish I had pull the trigger on the Tours

How are you liking those Aerotechs?

I am trying to decide what to put in my OnOff Forged that should be here in the next couple weeks. I kinda wanna go Aerotech's because they're a known quantity but at the same time the Recoils are very tempting. I've got a line on a set of pulls but they are the 125X so likely I would need to soft step them. Love me a rebar stiff wood shaft but for some reason not so much in irons.

The Aerotechs are a little confusing to me.

Feel - Not soft as I would expect graphite. I had Crazy graphite shafts before and they were soft feeling. These are more solid steel feeling and less graphite. These feel good and stout.

Performance - This is where they shine. Dead straight or baby draw. Side spin is non existent. I literally have seen what appears to start as a pull or push and the damn ball ends up straight.

Today I hit too many good shots right at the pin to pay much attention to the feel. Pretty good feel with laser accuracy is ok with me.

I can't imagine the Recoil shafts performing better. Maybe feel better.

Great info. Sounds like a winning combination.

Yeah the Aeros are unlike anything I've ever hit for consistency and dispersion. Kinda make me wonder how many past shots I've missed and how many were the shaft!

I think the way to think of them isn't as graphite shafts, but to think "I'm getting dispersion and consistency of rebar stiff steel but with the feel of soft steel"

It can't make it have rebar style dispersion AND full blown graphite style softness I guess. To me they give c taper results with ns1050 feel and DG ease of use.

Ok sorry for the thread jack now back to your regularly scheduled programming

bogeydog, what length are you playing the Aerotech?

1/2" short or 37.5" 5 iron. CPM put it as an SR flex. Contacted Aerotech and said that it would slightly increase stiffness. Swing weight is from D1.5 to D3 in the wedges.

FYI - Using 8 iron shafts in wedges.

................ right.....................

these shafts are goin i na set of epon personals.

im abit concerend about the weight tho mine are 125 gram

but it seems the logical weight is to go 110

the diamana thumps are 95 but they play long 1/2 inch over what i like.

going 110 i shud be able to get them to 38

is there anything that shud make me get set of 125s over the 110s that you can think of ?

I understand the profiles are different between the 95/110 and the 125s.. Kucher plays the 95s.

Installed UST Recoil shafts and have review on Aerotech vs. Recoil. See below link.

Summary - Recoil Proto F3 and F4 models (95 and 110 approx weights) - Great feel, super performance. Lively and controlled. Make clubs easier to hit.

A winner.

Let me add that I continue to support that the Yamaha irons are just spot on scoring irons. Not the soft Epon feel, but crisp and positive. I believe they are forgiving and am surprised with the results after a missed shot. The Recoil and Aerotech shafts woke these monsters up even more. However the Recoil shafts are my choice because of feel, kick, and stellar performance in all regards. I haven't been more excited to get out on the course than I have this year.

Congrats on finding a winner Bogey...

What did you decide on? Did you receive your irons yet?

Have not gotten mine yet. Ended up trying the Thumps. Did a soft stepped X, based on my fitted length and Supo's comments about an S flex being right for him.

Also waiting on the Tour Driver with a Roddio M6x, if I remember correctly.

Anxious but the weather in New England is not cooperating so it will be only range time for a little while...

A bit OT, but I just got The Mizuno mp Craft 611 with The roddio M6 x-flex Shaft. Havent had The chance to hit this combo yet. Have you used The m6 before?

No... Have wanted to try Roddio shafts for a while and finally got the chance to hit the i10s. Based onmy preference for driver length that was Ts recommendation.

Looking forward to it.
