December 20, 201212 yr That's a great question, from reading in the past threads, I think the 2012 Tours seem like they're the best to date. Can't wait for other TSGer's to chime in, great question and will be following this thread. Edited December 20, 201212 yr by vanla01
December 20, 201212 yr Author That's a great question, from reading in the past threads, I think the 2012 Tours seem like they're the best to date. Can't wait for other TSGer's to chime in, great question and will be following this thread. I like the looks of the 12s the best. 08s have a bit of a cult following but havent been able to locate a set to view. Edited December 20, 201212 yr by yourpressed
December 21, 201212 yr Toss up between the 2008 and 2012. I would say the 2008 was boxier in looks and maybe slightly more forgiving. The 2012 was more versatile and reminiscent of 2008. A better player may favor the 2012. No clear winner though.
December 21, 201212 yr I tested all 5 models and I liked the 12 and the 10's. I actually found the 12's quite forgiving and liked their looks the best. The milled face for me improved the feel over previous years.
December 21, 201212 yr Does the face milling on irons make them softer the same way it makes putters softer? Never played a milled iron so I'm curious. My only concern with the milling is seeing how long it resists wearing off. Hopefully the milling lasts a good long while.
December 21, 201212 yr Looks like the 2008 is getting alot of attention, but can't beat the feel of the 2012. The 2012 and 2008 have a very simple design and appearance which is appealing for me. I like a well balanced appearance which. No funky designs like the 2010 model.
December 21, 201212 yr Thoughts on the 11 model v forged? I've gamed the '11 tour model. Best iron I've ever played. They were shafted with Quadra graphite so this would have added to the soft feel which I love. Can't compare them to all the other versions though but I'm sure they are all brilliant, just ask Stew (supo67).
December 22, 201212 yr Doc has the 2010s and I've hit them several times. Very nice irons, can't get them away from him and I've tried.
December 23, 201212 yr Here we have some images of the new 2010 version Tour Model Limited Iron by Yamaha, We were only able to source 3 sets this year and found it very difficult as it 100% sold out 2 weeks before release and official announcement. New 2010 Yamaha Tour Model Irons ( Already Sold Out ) Have a look at the 2008 vs 2009 vs 2010 models all are very similar in style and design but I have not yet been able to take the new 2010's out for a spin. 2010 on left - 2008 on right 2010 on top - 2008 on bottom 2010 on right - 2008 on left Back to top Quote MultiQuote Report #2 bogeydog Posted 28 December 2009 - 06:22 PM TSG Expert Members 918 posts Gender:Male Location:Maryland Handicap:6.9 What's in the Bag?: Driver: Ryoma ST 9.5 with Bassara JPGA stiff, FW: Akira M215, M218 and M221, Talamonti 80g R flex5-PW: 2013 Yamaha Inpres Tour w/ Aerotech 95RWedges: Sky Dream Jump DP2010 Protos, 51* and 57*Putter: Gene Nead Custom, 406.7g headBall - ?????Bag - Sun Mountain MPB Do you think the bounce of the sole has changed? By memory it appears the 2010 model may have slightly more than the 09s. I am patiently waiting for my 10s to show after the reshaft by Goodsie. my gut says that the 2010s will launch slightly higher and feel should be better due to the additional meat. Lets see how the forgiveness is improved. IMO the 08 was more forgiving that the 09 however the 09 was slighly more forgiving in on the toe. Maybe they found a way to meld the two and take the best characteristics of both. December 23, 201212 yr I could do with a set of '08's or '09's to match my driver. They all look great.
December 24, 201212 yr Ive ahd all of them and. I think the 2010 Are my faves they are nthe best bakance between the more powerfull 2011 and.T He super easy 2008 The 2009 are a beaut. Well but. Not. Everyone will like the cavity design YeA. After 4 Years of tampering with all and subdry i think the 2010 are prb my faves To be honest tho Any and all cud and have sat as first choice irons No issues with any The 2010 and 2100 are the lower launching of them all The. 2011 the most difficult and best rewarded irons The 2008 the easiest
April 1, 201311 yr youve got a set... ur not playing them??? I play with my buddy's set and they are definitely fun to hit for sure. I'm a bit curious on the 2012 tours for some odd reason.
April 2, 201311 yr well they kinda reminded me of a control version of new kinda redesign of the 2008 ... they were scarily easy to hit straight and high but they wernt easy to work side to side i found. damn good to hit the milling on the face is better than everything in the market
April 2, 201311 yr which model is the best of the bunch? I have the 2011 and 2012, like them both. Feels like the 2011 is softer than 2012, could be the different in shafts - 2011 with quadra 100i and 2012 with pxi.was thinking of getting the 2013 beginning of the year but change my mind coz I have too many sets of iron sitting in the bag without gaming them.....
April 2, 201311 yr thast def bec of the shafts the new (from 2012) milling makes these softer FOR SURE.
