wmclarenf1
I knew they make snazzy bags, head covers, apparel etc but wedges? Who forges their heads? In Japan and this guy that grinds them used to be with Fourteen or some other brand? Any one played these? Any good or just snazzy bilngy looking wedges? gocchin
Oichi forged heads, ground by one of Japan's top masters... he is on a level of his own. He created Fourteen's wedge line MT28 hence his name Masahiro Tomaru. He is the creator of the original DB Forged Wedge from Royal Collection http://www.golftoimpress.com/introducing-grind-studio-and-masahiro-tomaru/ Here is my review: http://www.golftoimpress.com/dance-with-dragon-wedge-review-60-sand-wedge/ Awesome feel, awesome spin. wmclarenf1
Rory switched so can Kevin LOL.. Somehow I don't think DWD will pay Costner 200 mil even if they had the dough... What's happened to him anyways... He's still around I hope.

Dwd and crazy toyoshima Grinded by tomaru san Same guy who did the grind studio and RC DB wedges. Ya also mr fourteen in some Models. Cnt say which is better as ive only ha the RCs.. I think these are more playable than marus, I found marus too sharp not enough bounce. Wile the yamahas too much bounce.. Like you i will own both
wmclarenf1
Got in 18 with these wedges but did not get to use them too much as I probably use the 54 the most. Only had 1 bunker shot is softish sand and the 60 works beautifully. Nice enough height and soft enough landing. Held well. 2 approach shots with the 51 held the greens very well. Ball was about a couple of inches from the pitch mark. Resulted on a birdie on one of them occasions. Had maybe 4 greenside bump and rolls with the 51 and not bad but not great. I think (hope) its a case of needing to get used to her. She's a tad too flat so I'll probbay need to have her bent another 0.5 up! Playing partner was nice enough to pick up the 52 after I finished my putt and immediately exclaimed how cool (and expensive) this wedge was. He played a very nice set of Miurasim blades! So as good as my Miura? Don;t know yet but as I have said so many times.. I am so comfortable with the Miura's uts a big ask for any wedge to work better for me. I just want the DWDs to work as good. Feel as I mentioned is not as dense as the Miura's and fortunately not as soft as Epon wedges. I prefer a slightly firmer feel in my wedges. So I would say they feel as soft as the Miuras but perhaps more crisp. Hard to describe feeling here. So di I regret getting these DWDs.. well only way is to get in a 54 replacement as I really use that loft for all kinds of approaches and chips... A DWD 56 satin to e bent to 55 will arrive by end of next week. I like the DWDs enough to get that in.... and also, there are such and ice breaker and conversation piece(s). wmclarenf1
Not impossible cause the mourns are still damn food for me and my 60y just came in today!
wmclarenf1
My 56 DWD wedge arrived. I thought I'd order the original DWD wedge but don;t know why I bothered because it immediately got swapped out for my Shimada without even a hit LOL. Interesting gold silkscreen below the grip with DWD logos. Supposed to be some 90s gram special spec Shimada. Got it bent to 54 and adjusted the lie for me. I've used the older Epon carbon ferrules on them which matches well I think. I really hope this DWD 54 works because it has the big shoes of my Miura 54 to fill. They are so much cooler looking than the Miura though I think. Edited January 31, 2013 by wmclarenf1
