Posted January 31, 201312 yr Havent had a chance to hit the SY yet but was very impressed with the feel, sound and ballflight on the Mizuno but it also paired with my shaft of choice..CB46 7.2. SYard has a Fuji Platinum Ltd. 65 Mizuno is 410CCs but at address looks smaller compared to the SY. Headed to AZ next week for GOLF so will get to put them in play as opposed to hitting them at my testing center (frozen football field)

January 31, 201312 yr Author Face looks really closed on the Mizuno, Haha. Nice Rich let us know how the S yard does. its how I held the club...it sits square....dork
January 31, 201312 yr its how I held the club...it sits square....dork Best come back ever... It is curious how the S-Yard looks bigger from address, but it could also be how you held one cockeyed too… No, it looks like the arch at the "top" of the picture is more pronounced and elongated on the S-Yard. Two beautiful clubs there, looking forward to pert comparison post... Believe mine got delivered a couple of days ago, sadly I am out of town and I have an idiot injury from removing a grip and can't play anyway, even if I was in town...
January 31, 201312 yr Thanks for the comparison pics Rich. The s yard looks tasty. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts especially with regard to trajectory... Have a good trip.
January 31, 201312 yr Author The SY is beautiful and looks bigger than its size..here is another pic for Potuna side by side as I know he despises closed heads Edited January 31, 201312 yr by yourpressed
January 31, 201312 yr its how I held the club...it sits square....dork Did you lose your sense of humor in that snow storm, better come out to the southwest and thaw out bro.
January 31, 201312 yr you timed your visit perfectly, we just snapped a cold spell and it should be mid 70's for you next week! what courses do you have planned?
January 31, 201312 yr Author you timed your visit perfectly, we just snapped a cold spell and it should be mid 70's for you next week! what courses do you have planned? WeKoPa; Legend Trail, Quintero, GrayHawk are the courses so far...a buddy rented a place in Kierland for Jan-Apr so he is setting it up any hidden gems we should try?

January 31, 201312 yr WeKoPa; Legend Trail, Quintero, GrayHawk are the courses so far...a buddy rented a place in Kierland for Jan-Apr so he is setting it up any hidden gems we should try? good choices, those are all quality courses. quintero is the true hidden gem...probably the best (now) semi-private course in the valley. but bring your "a" game to her or you'll donate a more than just a few balls! unless you have access to some of the private clubs, you won't do much better than those. you could try to get on the tpc course while it's still set up for the open. playing it in championship form is fun, otherwise imho it's a fairly boring track during the rest of the year.

January 31, 201312 yr played Quintero my last visit and other than the 10 minute cart ride to the first tee it was a great experience...they had a temporary clubhouse...still the case? unfortunately yes. when the economy/housing bubble crashed they could no longer grow their membership and now they'll probably never get the funding to start the clubhouse or the second 18. they just opened up for public play last year to help with revenue but that's probably just enough to keep the course open.
February 1, 201312 yr Mizuno face still looks closed to me... S-Yard looks delightful...better keep her locked up tight rich you aren't far away and I'm prone to sleep-driving
February 1, 201312 yr Can't wait to hear your review....... you're right the S Yard does look bigger with it's matt finish.
February 1, 201312 yr Author Mizuno face still looks closed to me... S-Yard looks delightful...better keep her locked up tight rich you aren't far away and I'm prone to sleep-driving Come on up in the spring. Mizuno looks square to me but will see how it does next Friday. Edited February 1, 201312 yr by yourpressed
February 1, 201312 yr thanks for the pics - was looking/hoping for comparison to the T388 (I posted my 611 vs Adams 9015 and the yonex 380). They do look similar shape from on top. The Mizuno seems to sit square to me, which may mean it's a fraction open... I'm used to my Adams which is probably close to a couple degrees open. did you get the Mizuno at the flatter lie?
July 12, 201311 yr I know it is an older thread, but I am interested in that exact comparison between the mizzy and the s-yard. What's the verdict? How do they compare?
