dodge
Anyone have any experience with this ball? One of my friends who is mini-tour player loves the ball. How does this compare to the ProV1X and HX Tour?
naylit
I think it's a really good ball. Not extremely long but the cover holds up pretty well and it stops on the greens. Chips and putts well. Nice feel.
haribo
I'd like to know as well. The ur-x is still not available here in my neck of the woods. Not that we can play currently in chilly Ontario. Does anybody know what this ball will be going for in Canada? Can't wait to test the ur-x and the hx tour. haribo
hooters29102
its a great ball, very similiar to the pro v1. not as long as teh x but its pretty close, just an overall great ball and can be found cheaper than the comparable balls. its my ball of choice!!! I could have sworn I saw some in Golftown back at X-mas time when I was there. And I know they had/have the hx tours as I bought a couple of sleeve's . Haven't treid them yet as it is way to wet still . dodge , there are some review's of this ball down in the review section . Don't know if it is what you are looking for but they might give you some idea on what to expect .
ErnieBells
I agree with hooters on the urx specs.100%.However i played the HX Tour in Aruba and will be taking it out for another spin in Florida this weekend.I play the ProV1x and i must say that the hx tour was alittle longer. It's got my attention for a serious 2nd look, which i didn't feel about the urx!!! My local club fitter also sells ball's and he was suppose to get his at mid month . Has yet to get them . Wonder if they are having production problems then :?:

Looked almost like they were discontinuing the srixon balls all together. Next time I'll check again and will also ask a salesperson if I can't find them. (well, asking them is not much help. most of them don't have a clue.) haribo

The HX tour balls (callaway black) are supposed to be long, stop fast and veru stable through the air.
Buddy
The URX is nearly as long off the driver as the PRO V1X for me; good trajectory, little crisper feel, very good in the wind. The iron play is where the URX out performs the X for me. The ball seems to carry more, maybe 3 to 5 yds with penetrating flight. I have hit some amazing iron shots this winter to elevated greens that the X could not match in mid summmer! The URX had great trajectory/carry and distance with the drop and stop capability the X could not match. Chipping and putting are as good if not better than the X for me; the URX has excellent green side feel with the spin available if needed. Durability is no comparison vs. the X; the URX does not sheer like the X. I'm saving my last few X's for warmer weather. Just filled my bag ball pocket with URX's! P.S. I have not tried the HX Tour yet. It will have to be extraordinary to move the URX out of my bag.

indacup
I've been a big fan of the Srixon line since they hit the shores a few years back. In particular, the Hi-Brid Tours...my only complaint about them was the shredding of the skin...much like the ProV-x. The URX's came out right near the end of our season and I only had a chance to hit them a few times before hibernating them with cold weather balls. What i found was very much like what Buddy found. A great all around ball...but the added distance with the irons, in particular, the wedges caused me a bit of grief. I had all my distances set....and all of a sudden, with these balls I found myself hitting wedges over greens instead of on them...well, that was disconcerting. But I will be taking them out again and getting them dialed in. They're THAT GOOD of a ball worth making accomodations for.
Mike
I guess I'll have to give these balls a try now . They are still not available here in Toronto. Also, very interested to see how much they will go for. The ProV1 (don't like the X) goes for $64.95, the HX Tour $59.95 (all prices CDN of course). Really like to know how the URX will fare compared to that. haribo

rbl690
Being a Pro V1X player for the last year, I was surprised to find the UR-X alot longer off my irons. At least a half a club length. Consistently, and I really really didn't like that. Off the driver and 3w, it didn't seem much longer. Didn't spin worth a crap though, plays like a distance ball. Spin isn't something I have any trouble producing, unfortunately too much usually. Decent ball, I'd rather play the HX Tour or Pro V1X though. :D
