NOT going to be everyone's cup of tea, but just picked this up. Ripped the pics off WRX from the ad, obviously, as I don't have it yet.

To ME, this putter is awesome. Definitely going to be love or hate I think but I like center shaft mid mallet putters.

MACHINE 1018 Carbon 5.0 M2A Converter Head with a 1018 Carbon Modular Center Shaft Hosel and an Alloy Boat Back Nibble Back Flange. The head, neck and flange have all been copper plated and finished in with a antique patina finish. Triple sightlines on the flange. Damascus steel medallion with gun blue finish. The putter has a UST Frequency Filtered Shaft with a Black Anodized Alloy Milled Grip.

Always liked the look and concept of the Machine putters but have never tried one. The one you've got there looks very good. Not sure about the grip in weather conditions such as yours but certainly a bit different. Anyone tried the 'reverse arch' grip from Machine?

good looking putter, definitely the opposite direction of the zen that didn't work for you. hope you find your nirvana with this one!

Yeah I figured it was 90% the zen wouldn't work but I had to try it anyways. Oh well half the fun is trying stuff.

The metal grip...I don't know how often I putt in weather cold enough for it to matter honestly. And if it's that cold I usually wear 2 gloves. I guess I will find out.

I had been looking for a completely custom build but couldn't make up my mind and wasn't falling in love with anything then all of a sudden I saw this and it was like JENGA

Mate I think this looks cool. Definitely something I'd game. I also prefer a mallet style putter.

think putters like the zen are a bit boring looking, where as this looks fantastic! Hope it works for you.

comment_200180

the blade shape may be boring to look at...but i'd have a hard time saying the zen itself is boring looking!

ive had a cpl of machines.........

his quailty build is top notch. and the ability to mix pieces around is FUN.

they machine look is somehting i certianly like .

i eneded up with a damascus and coper insert he did. its suepr heavy and gorgeous to look at

impact tho is pretty hard considering.

i like that a lot

ya, his puuters go nicely.

If I like the impact feel and alignment, I will probably get another flange or 2 made for the back, one shorter one with more out of the center more like a U shape then the ultra small shoulders one to make it look like an anser. That way when I can't putt worth a damn I can change the hosel and the flange and have the honeymoon period all over again.

comment_200194

if it works for you and you like it then thats all that matters.

i used to love the work of machine when they were starting out

loved their modular putters but the limitless possibilities got me

confused and the many permutations turned me off.

but i see these working for guys that are not OC:) same way that

adjustable drivers wont work for me. like to keep it simple with no choice Lol.

great pick up matt. been wanting to try the machine all aluminum grip. will they sell it alone?

I believe you can buy the grip by itself

comment_200237

That would/ could be a talking point on the First green!!

I think I'd give it go... Different, different is good!!

Well I got the putter...definitely not as soft as I expected...more of a crisp/firm impact. Sets up and looks nice, the metal grip is interesting. Feels great in the hands. Was pretty cold when I brought it in from outside today lol. I like the grip I am not sure I'd go running out and installing one on everything I owned though. Definitely gives you more feedback than rubber. Maybe if it had a rubber grip it would feel softer.

Very pretty to look at. Let us know how it performs on the course.
