Guest kbeasley
Does the one without hot melt feel hotter off the face? It sounds "faster" to me, for lack of a better word. I guess that means I think it sounds better....
wmclarenf1
It will definitely feel different. The 435R is a loud tingy thing to begin with. Yes, hot melt/foaming/cotton balling etc will change that BUT you will also change not just the sound but the playing characteristics of the head which may not be what you want. Personally, I would not hot melt/foam etc any head as you can;t control with any precision how the CG, balance etc will be affected. If the loud ting of the 435R puts you off, best to just move away form it but I recall reading you like the performance so I'd suggest you just need to put up with the sound (or get ear plugs :-) )..Just me of course. Thanks for your answer that is exactly what I was wondering.I really love the performance with out the hot melt. Im actually start appreciating the sound as it really tells how your contact is with the ball and makes it very awarding. I have to say this are hard driving range balls in the winter what makes it even more pingy sound. Edited February 26, 2013 by dodo
Ian-500
Be loud and proud! I prefer the non-hot melt head.
Vegaman
Alot of the feel comes from how a club sounds, so not so strange a different sounding head will "feel" different too.
+TourSpecGolfer
Hot melt can be effective if done properly. It takes someone who has done it many times. The thing is once it goes it, It's stuck. It could be risky business if done poorly. I prefer to leave mine untouched and not hot melt. If you want to change the feel there is something Geotech sells called VD tip tuning it's a part that goes in the hosel.
