Bending the Toyo

  1. 1. How to make a 50/54/58 trio from 2(x) 52* and a 58*

    • Bend the Yam to 50/6 and Toyo to 54/8
    • Bend the Toyo to 50/4 and the Yam to 54/10

So I have this lovely pair of raw Toyo wedges 52/58 and am looking to play a 50/54/58 trio instead of the pair. The other wedge I have is a 52* '11 Yamaha.

How to bend?

Bemd the toyo to 54 and the yam to 50

The toyo will have the perfect amount of bounce if bent to 54..

It will be too low if bent to 50 imho

Toyo to 54.

So both you guys think 4* of bounce is too low for full swinging - 3/4 shots?

4* sounds too low imo. but there is more to it than the # so it may be worth a shot to see how that 4* actually plays when mated to your swing.

I voted "Bend the Yam to 50/6 and Toyo to 54/8" - can't imagine playing a 50/4 wedge...

I voted for the Yam to 54 and the Toyo to 50, purely because I wouldn't want the Toyo to get ruined by sand!!! :tsg_smiley_sun:

What bounce does your PW have?

RomaRo is 7* of bounce, not sure on the Personals or the Yam Tours...

I'm assuming here, but is it usually the case that the gap wedge will have 'bounce' nearly the same as the PW? If so then it's the Yam at 50 and the Toyo at 54. Saying that, when I had a GW it was used for bump and runs, so a lower bounce would be more beneficial as you don't want any turf interaction really.
