What are you playing and what results are you getting? Did you start with stock and what was your experience? After the change?

I'm gaming the stock shaft in stiff and loving it. The T388 goes a little higher than I expected so I'm happy I play the 9.5. Very nice combo! I don't plan on swapping the shaft out anytime soon.

I mostly concur with what Stew said, but don't have the arsenal he has to compare with...

Diamana X 70 Stiff flex is the shaft...

the interesting thing last nigh was the ryoma stinger was the equivalent of it .

the other two i might not have been getting as clean, but the s-yard i i was , and it looks the real deal from the 2 sessions ive had.

I have the 10.5* with the stock shaft and can't imagine playing the 9.5*. Any lower trajectory would be to low for me.

I'm getting such good results in both dispersion and distance I'm afraid to even try another shaft.

I have a FEX, Royal Dec., TJ46, 519, I'lima and Fubuki waiting for a shot. Not sure any of them are going

to get an opportunity to go play with this head.

Played a course today I am very familiar with and granted the fairways were pretty firm but I was 10-20

yards deeper than I've ever been on a couple of them,

For me the Regio Formula really works with this head. Its stiffness at the butt gives me confidence with this head plus not too high torque (less than 4) also gives me stability with this smaller head (than I used to).

Jeff, from the shaft you mentioned, pls try the FEX and let us know the result.

Yes, can't imagine 9.5 works better for someone.

Me... ^^ haha

I'm a high ball hitter.

9.5 works really good with diamana x 70 for me.

I found the Zero not forgiving. Back to the S-Yard shaft, one thing I'm sure that this in 45.5" gives me about the same distance as 46" Ryoma. So in my opinion, for the ones who got this head, don't be afraid to play it shorter.

Tae and Chris, 9.5* works better becoz of your higher HS than 85-90MPH of mine?

Graphite Design Z9003 Type6 in stiff. 45.25". 10.5 loft, 0.5 open.

I absolutely love this shaft. Easy to shape left or right. Trajectory is mid-low which I prefer but I can hit high fades when necessary. Dispersion is quite tight.

But judging from previous responses, I'm wondering what shaft WON'T work in this head. I did not have the stock shaft but rather had it built at S-Yard, so I can't comment on that. I will say it did not take any time at all to dial it right in. This combo just works and works very well.

Previous drivers are the Yonex and KPX both having the P9003x in them. The S-Yard is superior to both. I can hit all three well but the nod goes to S-Yard for distance and workability. The Yonex is consistent gentle draw, the KPX is left most the time, but the S-Yard is workable to either side. I can't say how much longer the S-Yard is as I want some more time but I am back to hitting 260+ overall with a few approaching 290.

The Z9003 series shafts offer in my opinion everything the P9003x did, but in more flexes and weights which should appeal to a lot more individuals. Its very much worth a try.

damn u blader..... im going to have to go in and get one now...!

Yea, that's one shaft which hasn't made it to your shootout. But it's really a lot like the P9 series. Maybe with a tad more feel. But I'm really liking it in the driver. Still have the P9 in my 3 wood and that won't be changing as that club is perfect, but the Z series is definitely my go to now for a driver shaft.

Leaving the stock Tour AD Stiff in play. No reason to look any further for me as this combination shaft and club does everything I mentioned in my first post and more. It just keeps going and going and going... Never had a driver that I so looked forward to hitting every time I walk on a tee.

Interesting that the stock shaft is working so well for everyone. Give credit to the designer for putting thought into the right shaft for the head. Seems like others slap in something cheap or whatever they think is the flavor of the day. Kudos.

My thoughts exactly. Every detail of this design seems to have come from Kobayashi's life of experience with those hand tools on his bench that Tario's pictures showed so well -- and which first attracted me to giving this driver a shot -- and I feel safe in assuming he put a good deal of thought into the shaft as well. I also wonder if the design for the curved ribs forged into the face is patented. I hope so because I think it's there that Kobayashi really made a startling advance in the technology.

Based on the lighter weight and flex of the Z series I would be curious to know if you swapped the KPX shaft for the same model Z what the comparison would be...?

No I haven't but I was thinking along the same lines as that just a day or two ago. And, just to expand on that thought, there was time that these same specs just didn't suit me. Going heavier and stiffer fit the bill at that time. As the years have gone by I read about things such getting the lightest and least flex shaft one can handle. I think that's exactly what's going on here; that along with the fact that my swing has become much better with experience over the years. I think at some point I will order another Z9003 in same specs and swap out that shaft, just not now. The 3 wood with the P9 won't be changing anytime soon as that club is money. I do think the P9003x is an excellent shaft in a fairway wood. It really, really works.

Agreed on the quality of the P, have one in a driver and one in a 3 wood. Was thinking more lighter and looser for your swing based on results with the Z...

I am dreading the day I start dropping flexes. Gonna be a very expensive undertaking...

This shaft is supposed to be in between the DI & BB. I'm not sure where the GT falls into place on this.

I have the GT-7 coming in both of my new TourStage drivers that are coming.

As mentioned I have some different shafts to try as well as a couple of different ones I've been thinking

of trying. The Ho is me wants to do it but after today....................................................................

I'm leaving the stock shaft. I drove a par 4 today I haven't driven in over 6 years and two shoulder

surgeries a go and that wasn't my best drive.

Seriously think I'm going to buy the next head only that comes up just to try some different shafts cause I'm

not touching my "stock" set up.

I actually think an X100 would be kinda cool in a 388 head. Throwback Thursday.
