Stew I have a set of crazy protos coming my way and I hope they are as good as my crazy toys ??? Are they?? I played with the crazy black raw toyos today and loooove them just prefer satin which is why protos are on their way to me. I have never spent so much $$$$ on wedges.............

they are a sensational shape. rounded. but . also with a slight small pearat the neck.

. gives the versatilty but also a bit more confidence if u dont quite get it spot on.

they are NOT soft........................ def not soft....!

but they do a job.

yea i think they go ok.

what are these crazy proto's everyone is talking about? different from the ccb-104 toyoshima's? would love to see some pics.

Oh man, The S=Yard BOLD wedges will be a great addition to your family!

Solution: you can keep 9 wedges (I'll assume you play 3 wedges in your bag). Every time you purchase 1 you get rid of one. You get rid of that by sending it to me :D

here u go a few piccys on front post

Hey Stew, what are those Yamaha non-conforming heads like compared to the 2010/2011 version? I've gamed the 2010/2011 but thought they lacked spin and feel, even with a graphite shaft!

  • Author

the non conforoming heads have ooodles of spin, but the sole is much thicker. significantly so as i trued to show.

in summer here , these things just slice thru the turf . they are really good .

the 2010 conforming do get a heap of spiin but not out of the rough as much ive found ,if u try them with Ns vw u will notice it increase for sure. but distance wil ldecrease.

May have to give the non-conforming a whirl one day. Thanks.

Bolds are going to look good sitting amongst the crowd there.

when does the wedge shoot out start?

statred yesterday..

DWD vs crazy proto

the shafts were 2s14s VS 2f15s

(say that ONCE quickly..!!!!)

and there IS a big differnce in shape at ifrst ithought thme pretty uiuentical but def not.

the DWD are more rounder the cray are a flater look on the grass.

the DWD seemed to slice UNDER the ball much better , while the crayz i tened to hit at and thru the line of the ball.

my thoughts immeditaly were.

crayz for throwing sky high and land on a 1 yen coin.. here in japan

the crayz for hittting hard thru the wind at longy in sydney

both spun very very well.

if was to keep one set id keep t he DWD bec i live here and the sole is a just a bit wider.

in oz id keep the crazies.

ah such dilemas.

I have not seen Crazy wedges in person so I can;t comment but the have an even longer hosel than the Miura wedges which I believe is meant to raise CG and hence help lower the ball flight. As for spin, I would agree the DWDs spin very very well especially if you are aggressive and hit down and through.

you know what tho im still to find bette than the tourstage maurs..

i still think they are my top dawwwwwwwwwwwgs

maybe im just so familar with them

cetianly nothing feels better than them

well see..............,

oh btw the bolds.......... they dont half look simialr to the the epon 2010 x wedge huh??

Haven;t seen the Bold in person yet so I can;t comment.

The new Epon wedges however.... TALL and HUGE. Not something I look for in wedges.

While I really love my Miura, I found DWD spin more when I hit that of Wmclarenf1. Had a chance to talk to Niimi son on Tue (owner of Epon's inter agent). He said the Bold spun like hell as he tested it. I didn't make it for 1st pre-order at TSG but will have a chance to try it at GC here next month.
