supo
my first round with the shafts on sat , after a cpl of range session went very nicely , so i decided to give the voldamorts the newest pins form Nippon. ive had the modus 120 protos on these and although they felt great and performed well, i was loosing a ton of distance. which ordinarily with me is fine. but it was "very Noticeable"" agaisnt other iron sets so when the new ones came out i wasnt that enamoured in my belief as a coupling with NEPO heads. 3 range sesions changed all that . and on sat, i can safely say these are one hell of a good match, i think lots of guys are going to enjoy playing the modus 130s! distance issues are better but not perfect, they still by no means a distance champion . but the way they perform is extremely encouraging. i certinly didnt have any noticeable issues with lack of length and when i was in between i went one longer and the ball sat still when it landed. so all in all i thinkt they are pretty spot on. im certianly very happy with them HIGH smoooooooooooooooooooooth and soft feeling . without a dramatic warping feel of without a heck of a lof of problematic spin. nad unlike the modus 120 which i found can be a bit too much anti spin and "nude" the 130s can be moved a bit to go with the wind. not much but more than the 120s. which is nice. i was hiting my irons fine nothing special but over all well enough. no real problems. and a cpl of very good ones where i got the full feeling and full reward for my swing. i instantly loved these shafts. hit a 3 iron into the wind 200 yards and it fell dead on target with foot of roll. and a 6 iron with a right left behind direction that fell dead after going with the wind that i thought wud end up i nthe drink. jut seemed to fall flat on the fringe both were dead spot on hits. both gave me the full monty on what these shafts do , and i was more than happy. ive been not 100% into NS for the last yr with the arrival of the monaccos form TT, but ill say easily ,these are smoother , nicer to play, without being overly heavy . ill not say better...... they are very differnt beasts. but i will say il be a bit surprised if these dont catch on with a very diverse customer base. mine are onyl stiff.. and i have NO problems playing them what so ever.i thought them perfect. jaygolf
Potuna should be getting his shortly. Curious to know what he thinks of them. I've grown a bit tired of the 120s. 130s were on the high side, something I avoid considering where I play there tends to be quite a bit of wind (that seems to follow me head on from hole to hole). So back to the old sp blues and s300s for me. I still think s300/x100s are one hell of a performing shaft though.

nobmontana
I have been playing the Modus 130s in MP64s for a week now. Though this is my first week out this season after a long long winter, I am hitting these irons better than anything I have had in the past. Courtesy of Nippon Shaft, I got custom fitted with these shafts for the first time. Ended up with a Stiff flex Soft Stepped x 1. My other set is an AF301 with Prototype ORA Stiff. I am actually liking the Modus 130 better. the 130 feels smoother and is a tad lower trajectory than the Proto ORA, and really accurate. We'll see how they perform in windy conditions. but so far so good. If you like heavier steel shafts, you really need to give this a try. Hard they play super stiff. How are the softeps X1 compared to straight up oras?

He said stiff soft stepped, I'm going to play mine soft stepped once since my set is 4-gw. I have the shafts, thanks to Jason and irons will be here today or Monday. nobmontana
Stiff ORAs straight in feel about as firm as the soft stepped 130 Stiffs. I would not dare get near extra stiffs with the 130s. I know many have gone up a flex with the Modus 120 and previous Nippon models, but the 130s are a different animal. According to my fitter, the overall stiffness on a 130 S flex was equivalent to a DG X100 - soft stepped once.

supo
didnt play these this week, played the areotechs 110x with tourtsage cavity 701 instead. that was a different feel. the 110 weight was fine, maybe stil la smidge light. but it was pretty cold and windy here. so i wa kinda happy not having to excert myself inot every shot too much . they played really well. but no feel ,they are totally mute. but, ,they were suprememly good perfortmance very differnt style to these 2 g18s i was surprised by how much there is a the feel differnce, cudnt get the flex point sussed in the aerotechs i much prefer the 2g18s to the aerotechs . but i gotta say i hardly hit a bad shot with them. cant wait to play the 2gs agn this weekend .
