Posted May 18, 201311 yr 10 OnOff 9. Epon Zero 8. Ryoma 7. crazy 460 6. S Yard 388 Have already posted on this so everyone knows I like this Driver. I like it a lot. Only had it a couple of weeks so definately still in the honeymoon period. But heck its already lasted longer than many marriages, Low launch and straighter than Robin Hoods last arrow. Definately longer than the Ryoma, for me, but is it as accurate.... Time will tell. Have got the stock shaft and at this point am quite happy with it. Dont really have a lot to say about this as I really have not had it long enough to find all its quirks and secrets. A bit like a girl called Grace in Grade 9. I am Still experimenting with tee height etc Am pretty confident on what I have seen so far, that it wont make the top 5. From here on the competition is tough. In case I forget to mention, I do like the Driver and if I have any trouble, will definately get counselling. Edited May 18, 201311 yr by Craig
May 18, 201311 yr I'm really curious what would be No1 driver!! Seems like ALMOST all the top drivers already ranked......hopefully not a suprise.... Thx for posting and brief reviews on them.
May 18, 201311 yr Actually I'm suprise for the driver rank 9,8,7,6...... I thought they would be in top 5...maybe not the epon zero coz is not for everyone.... Can't wait to see your top 5!
May 18, 201311 yr with all the talk about this driver and the fact that it's still in it's honeymoon period, i expected this to be top 3 just behind the maxima and 435.
May 18, 201311 yr Author As I have mentioned am having a lot of fun doing this. One of the things I have done is pull out all these Drivers and a host of others and give them a whirl again. Just to check. Some of these I have not hit for more than 6 months. I do have actual GPS distances and averages on my computer, somewhere, probably in amongst my porn collection. You know that safe spot where we cant lose it. For me the 388 is definately behind in terms of distance. If we talk about consistant distance then this is probably number one. Pretty much I know I can hit this 220 metres plus, even on a bad day and still be in play. On the other hand I think it would be a surprise if I could nail this to 260 metres. This is pretty much my limit. Other Drivers, I can get to 260 metres, but I can also hit it less than 200, depending on the bounce off trees or where the water is. Also it is no shame for the 388 to finish here. Lastly, I have not hit the Maxima. Edited May 18, 201311 yr by Craig
May 18, 201311 yr One suggestion C is to re-list the past mentioned drivers downward from #10 in you first post of each new selection. Saving us (me in particular) the trouble of digging back old threads.
May 18, 201311 yr Author Good Thinking. As you know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so good ideas are always welcome
May 18, 201311 yr Im surprised to see the 388 at number 6 for YOU Craig given your review of it. And I'm glad I'm t the only one who "can also hit it less than 200, depending on the bounce off trees or where the water is." Can't wait to see what your top 5 is, one of them being the 435 and that definitely does not catch me by surprise.
May 18, 201311 yr Hope no Nike or RBZ come up :-). That'd break my heart But if it works, it works...
May 18, 201311 yr Good Thinking. As you know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed so good ideas are always welcome All I know is that if a Yamaha '12 or '13 Tour model is not in your top 5 your list has no credibility.
May 24, 201311 yr Craig brought up something interesting. The 388 total yardage over the entire round vs other drivers. If you only count what lands in the fairway there is a good chance the 388 takes the cake.
