Posted July 12, 201311 yr Dear All, I am looking for a Hi-Cor, non-conforming driver head. To be shafted with an ARMRQ6 , Regular Flex. The shaft is coming from an Honma Amazing spec driver “Zirconium” model. About 50gr. And 46.5 long, but I might shorten it a bit. The target is distance and forgiveness, my swing speed is between 87 and 94 MPH, not very fast I know. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your feedback. Edited July 12, 201311 yr by 000AA
July 12, 201311 yr Grand Prix Platinum X1---hit is this past weekend not knowing it was non-conforming until after the round...was in places I had never been on my home course. Looks/feels great.
July 26, 201311 yr Author Thank you for your feedback. I did try briefly the Ryoma with a stock shaft in a store in HK and I was not very impressed, but it was hard to judge. The store had just a net, no trackman or flightscope to check distance or speed.... I would like to try the RomaRo. Any other ideas?
July 26, 201311 yr Sometimes I wonder whether slower swing speed like 90mph or under like me would see any real difference with a hi cor head. At the same time, a demo at the store most likely not the Ryoma ST. If you are looking for premium hi cor heads, your choice would be more limited.
July 26, 201311 yr How about Superman Hi cor or Romaro hi cor. Tried to sell both for a friend here awhile back.
July 26, 201311 yr "Superman HiCor"? What's that? Never heard of it before, would be interested to see some pictures and know who makes it.
July 26, 201311 yr It's definitely Jdm and expensive too. I think it's on gallery. I posted this on BST. Edited July 26, 201311 yr by Duffer19
July 26, 201311 yr Author Superman HiCor! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh. If you don't it this one at least 300 yards, you will look like an idiot on the course.... LOL I would be close to be ashamed, and believe me I am not shy, to use a club like that and not going farther than my 200/220 yards.

Duff, regardless of swing speeds, I THINK for hi-cor to give the extra distance, sweet spot hits are still a must. Anything else on the face would be similar to a non-Hi Cor model. This is what I recall reading sometime ago and I know not if it's a fact but it makes sense to me.
August 9, 201311 yr I bought a cheap Yamaha 405d. Thing goes straight and long. Easy to hit, hard on the ears. Loud loud loud.
August 10, 201311 yr I bought a cheap Yamaha 405d. Thing goes straight and long. Easy to hit, hard on the ears. Loud loud loud. +1. My gamer for the last 3 years. No current jdm driver has kicked it out
August 13, 201311 yr +1. My gamer for the last 3 years. No current jdm driver has kicked it out Man Carlo, this 405D is bad news. I spent $$$s on a ryoma,bm 435, and had an syard, and just couldn't put this 405d in the bag even though it performs. I guess I'm stupid like that. Feel idiotic playing a club a I paid so little for, when I have my $$$ drivers sitting on the shelf.. I know.. stupid right.
August 16, 201311 yr Hi, been reading but not contributing, thought I'll give something back... I've been rotating among the Crazy 460, Ryoma Premia, and Ryoma ST. In terms of pure distance, I think the Crazy 460 with LY-01 goes the furthest and has the best feel and sound (smashing sound). But inorder to take advantage of this set up I really need to go for it. The Ryoma ST is more accurate and forgiving, it just goes down the fairway, even when I'm on the 18th tee in hot humid Aug summer in HK, a easy swing will get the ball out there. The Premia has a slightly better feel than ST, but I'm getting better results with the ST...
