The M.A.C series is Master Sasaya's personal line and most exclusive series. We originally posted about the M.A.C line up a while back and all of them sold pretty quickly.

The rest of the M.A.C putters are being released one by one now, the latest is called CHRONOS...

Not related to Gold's milling, but in general I've found horizontal milling to feel a bit softer and get the ball rolling a bit sooner while the milling pattern in the putter above is a bit better at eliminating sidespin and feels a bit more solid/gives a bit more feedback, both have benefits, some prefer horizontal milling, some prefer this milling pattern, its personal preference really, others things also contribute as well so its really just a personal generalization.

Is that all proven though? Personally I much prefer horizontal face mill and feel it gets the ball going better and off the face quicker but there is a strong school of thought that argues that face mill has no bearing on roll at all. So far I have yet to read anything conclusive for either proposition and am still curious to factually find out what the reality is.

Golf is a game of personal preference and opinion... All the data in the WORLD doesn't mean a bleeding thing once you get clubs out on the course, if someone told you that the horizontal face milling was proven not to get the ball rolling any faster, it would still get the ball rolling faster for you(and me, I prefer that pattern as well), nothing wrong with educating yourself, but don't drown yourself in so much information that it impairs your ability to make choices, especially considering that golf is, for a good percentage of players, a game of feel... If the information is ABSOLUTELY required, then I believe that I read something a while back on Scotty Cameron doing testing on how different milling effects roll.

A bunch of people think Gold's is just for looks and imo that couldn't be further from the truth.

Most putters have a bad lie, face angle, and CG location, those things effect performance especially for the better player.

For me going 4* open vs stock, I see less pulls and the ball easily rolls straighter on flat putts for me, on top of that it just set's up more square visually to me eye.

Milling, weights, finish etc.. all has an effect. The weights are often used to face balance or move the CG, the milling is all preference of feel, the finish is about feel, wear and looks.

better shafts, perfectly aligned grips, built for you and designed by you. Now all we gotta do is something about the price! but if you guys ever go to golds with us you will fully understand why it cost what it does.

You may be right. I used to be a Scotty Cameron fan til I realized that only about one in 4 or 5 of his putters off the rack have the sweet spot in the middle of the face. Some towards the toe, some towards the face. I'd always assumed that the CG was where the line on the flange was, even told that by shops.

It's not only Scotty, so many brands have this problem, I think most do. I think the entire industry has spec issues and that's why aftermarket services are so important.

Me personally I can live with the CG being a bit off but not the face & lie angles.

Aren't those called the arc reactors? I think they are weightless or close to it and for aesthetics?

oh i thought mine was an arc reactor. i guess i was mistaken

Hi C. ... As I said I just got one GOLDS for myself (from T.); You had a few "articles" on Sensei; would you mind sharing his background as you did with the TRPX crew. I always curious to know more about the background of the people behind the brands ... how he started, where did he learn, etc...
