gocchin
Callaway began shipping their new Legacy Black iron this month right after Henrik Stenson won the Fedex Cup using last years Legacy Black. Of course suddenly everyone wanted last years model and the two sets we had left over sold instantly (we are trying to get more). Demos of the entire new Legacy line up showed up at my house today and the first club I pulled out was the iron. I reviewed last years model here: http://www.golftoimpress.com/callaway-legacy-black-forged-iron-review/ It was an awesome all around performer satisfying enough for the pro player but forgiving enough for the improving golfer. The new model is much in the same mode and features a similar size and profile though less scorelines and a slightly different finish. Both irons feature pocket style cavities and utilize, Callaways VAR (vibration absorping) medallion. I hit a few quick shots with it and like the way it sets up and feels though some may think its too much offset. Like its predecessor, its blade is short from heel to toe and does not have the thinnest of toplines which actually inspires confidence. Need to get some playing time with all the Legacy clubs before I review them but in the mean time snapped some quick shots as always! gian11
I hope this is the same or better than the legacy 2008, well balanced and easy to hit. If there is improvement over 2008 I guess for me its the feel - I prefer more softer feel like Epon or Yahama. I look forward to your review T! idrive
First glance the top line looks quite a bit thicker and more offset than the 2012. Looks like the lofts are just a bit stronger as well. They should be giving Stenson a big thanks for creating a ton of interest that wasn't there before. As mentioned, looking forward to your review T.
Hutch
Yep they look great; but I do share the above posts views. I don't think it will matter what the mad Viking wields I still say he will be #1 in a matter of months, would be highly disappointed if he signs for adidas though. Not sure if its true but was told his only sponsor at the moment are boss and piretti due to titleist dropping him as he slid down the rankings, maybe he is not so keen on the big brands lack of loyalty with sponsorship so buys his own clubs. If that is true then good on him. I would love to see what the top pros would use given the choice..!

Bet most of them would go with the actual JDM labels for the Japanese forged clubs clubs they're already using anyway...
+TourSpecGolfer
Some demo's came in, I got to give these a rip yesterday at the range side by side against the Stenson models and these are indeed a bit more compact and more forgiving we even think the ball flight is lower. I just wish the finish wasn't chrome but other than that it is an improvement over the stenson model. Even feels equally as good a bit more mute soft. Scanned this image that shows why. Guy's toss another one into the hat if your looking at irons that rival the ONOFF Forged, VG3, etc..
stevopagolf
More forgiving than the Stenson? How about the Original VG3's?
vanla01
Anyone playing the 2013 Callaway legacy irons?
golfalot22
I have the 2012 stenson model. Awesome clubs!! My problem is I can't find a 4 iron to match. Guess I will keep looking.
Vegaman
I play the Stenson model, very soft feeling. An allround club
Avanderpost
Does anybody have anymore thoughts on these irons (the newer model, not the Stenson one)? I have a set coming and would love some insight into how they look/play. Thanks Andre
