Posted November 2, 201311 yr Trying hard to get the TRPX to kick-out the Crazy 435 w/ LY01 out of the bag and not happening. This is a mint TRPX S-031 (10*) square face driver with a Crazy TJ-46 (6.7) shaft. It comes with the TRPX wrench and Crazy weights. One TRPX screw was stripped the first time I tried to unscrew it, so I replaced the weights with Crazy ones and will ship the TRPX weights (including the stripped screw) and the Crazy weights. Specs: TRPX S-013 10* 0* Face Angle TJ-46 6.7 Flex Crazy MCC W hite +3 Wraps 45.25" D2 TRPX Wrench Crazy Weights SOLD, thanks TSG! Edited November 6, 201311 yr by mpbachman
November 3, 201311 yr michael, it doesn't look like anything is going to kick the 435 out of the bag. glws
November 3, 201311 yr Author Nope. I LOVE the look of the TRPX, quality of the build, etc, just couldn't get it to surpass (for my swing), the 435/LY01.
November 3, 201311 yr Coming from a 435 myself perhaps you should trade someone who has wants your S for their D.
November 3, 201311 yr Author With regards to the weight, it was just the top part that stripped when trying to unscrew it, the threads and the head were completely fine and this only happened to 1/3 of them. Luckily I had a Crazy weight set already. Also, tried the D+Messenger before this and definitely think that was a better setup for what I was looking for, just not enough to kick the 435 (I got the 435 about 2 months ago and we dream about each other still - loving it :) Also, willing to sell in parts if interest and willing to trade shaft for a Crazy 3 wood head (CRZ-FW). Would rather ship and sell as a complete club though.
November 3, 201311 yr Just curious on your ss and style, was thinking 435 also, My ss is 95-100 with driver, and also play the ly 02 and tj 46 both in 6.7 I hear mixed reviews on the 435 some say sound, feel and forgiveness arnt great?
November 3, 201311 yr Just curious on your ss and style, was thinking 435 also, My ss is 95-100 with driver, and also play the ly 02 and tj 46 both in 6.7 I hear mixed reviews on the 435 some say sound, feel and forgiveness arnt great? Sound, feel and forgiveness not great but not terrible. Distance is fantastic when you get it. Operative word is "when".
November 3, 201311 yr Author A little about my swing. My swing speed averages between 92-95mph as I cut my backswing down a little from previously parallel to slightly above 45* for control purposes. I am a fairly consistent ballstriker and typically get 250-260 with my drives. The Crazy 435 + LY01 (6.9) just seems to work. It might be the shaft and one combination I haven't tried yet is the TRPX D-031 + LY01, so that might be the golden ticket, not sure. The 435 and I are still in a honeymoon phase, but I am getting pretty much 80% FIRs with a decent amount of forgiveness on his**ts. Since my backswing is a little shorter, I tend to be very aggressive on the downswing to make-up for it, so maybe that is why the combo works, not sure. It was awesome from the first swing and compared to other combos, didn't really have to try to work to make it work.
November 3, 201311 yr Thanks fellas. Defo thinking 435 or kamui tp 07 GLWS Edited November 3, 201311 yr by hutchy
November 3, 201311 yr Interesting. You and I have the same swing speed range and I play a half flex softer than you and you get about 10yards more in distance. You're probably swinging better than me with driver.
November 3, 201311 yr I noticed you want a crazy fw, just got one and it is an absolute bomber, sound and feel arnt great so am thinking it may be the same as the driver in that respect, but distance is awesome. My new 902 might have to go.
November 3, 201311 yr Author My game is weird. For about 1.5-2 years, I flirted with single digits and had some spectacular rounds, then kids came and my game has been up/down since. I still have some core talent somewhere in there that screams to come out on swings here or there, just not enough time to get back into where I was. (at my height - well, if you can call a 8-9 hdcp a peak - for me it was ;), I was gaming a R11 v2 with a Fujikura Speeder Tour Spec 7.2 stiff and averaging about 270-280 (and ss was about 100-105). Ah, those where the good ol days ;) Now I try to kill them with my short game ;)
November 3, 201311 yr Author Can't wait to try the Crazy fairway. I am playing Monday, and once that round is over, going to pull my F3 from the shaft, sell or trade that for a CRZ-FW and see where that leads me :) Gotta love the ever-changing bag...
November 5, 201311 yr Author Played a round with the 435 today and hit 10/14 fairways. Honeymoon is still going strong. Dropping this to $750 net to me with free shipping to CONUS, international whatever is extra on top of that (rest covered by me).
