jeld
How does the legacy black 2012 compare in length of head (heel to toe) in comparison to onoff forged and 2010 vg3? Which iron out of these three is the most forgiving? Thanks everyone in advanced for the replies Edited January 15, 2014 by jeld
Shankopotamus
Order of forgiveness is the VG3, Onoff, and then the Callaways, most to least. Same order for heel/toe length.
Vegaman
What he said. The Legacy Black is more compact, "better player" looking, less offset. But still plenty forgiving enough. For me at least
xerobound
Although the ONOFF Forged and VG3 can be seen in some pro bags. I'd say the Legacy Black is more of the "player's irons". However, with that said, I think most would agree that it is a very forgiving "player's irons"...Easy enough for the avg player to hit, but has great workability, way more than the VG3 or OnOff IMO... gocchin
I could be wrong but I actually I think the ONOFF is the longest of the 3 heel to toe. The vG3 is surprisingly short heel to toe and but thicker on top for confidence.
Shankopotamus
Tario is probably correct, as usual, if he is referring to the 2012 VG3. I was referring to the 2010 model which is less compact. I should have mentioned that.
bruinduke
Hopefully not too much off topic, but does anyone know if the US released Callaway Apex Pro line is the same as Stenson's legacy black irons, but with different badging? If they are different, besides finish and medallion, would anyone know how much they differ?

They are very different the Apex Pro is more thin and all around while the black is thicker but has very little offset. The Apex Feels very good but nothing like the black, not that the black feels better just different. the legacy black forged is also noticeably more forgiving. The blacks have less offset than the apex pros or apex? I would imagine it would be less than the apex, but the apex pros had a thinner topline and less offset than the apex. If the blacks are more player cavity than the apex pros, but more forgiving it sounds ideal.

Not sure about the standard Apex. Yes the pro is thinner in top line and sole than the black. Feel is more firm and dense while the black is softer and more springy feeling.
