Posted May 4, 201410 yr It's easy to take pics of such a beautiful golf club with such an obvious and unique feature, Miura's MB-5005 takes a different approach at understanding the relationship between muscle and cavity and to me it's a blade with a cavity and also a cool under channel shooting through the center allowing for better lower weight placement. 15 grams was removed from the center of the club head and moved to the irons perimeter, this iron the (05) is suggested to be played as a mid iron combo'd with a set of the 5003's. This is Miura Gikens forgiving cavity back... wait I mean blade. Here's looking down at the pitching wedge, it's got a wider sole than some would expect and I say good because although it's labelled the more forgiving 5003 it's still got a butter knife top line like most Miura irons. Let's take a look starting with the PW working our way down to the number seven then four. How's that for a great looking PW, Miura Giken nailed the shape on these and the finish. http://www.tourspecgolf.com/miura-giken-2014-mb-5005-forged-iron-5-pw Features and Technology - S25C WDD Accurate Forged head for soft and consistent feel.- 15 grams heavier head than the previous MB model with lowered CG to promote a higher launch.- Unique cavity within the Muscle Back to distribute weighting evenly in the toe and heel; making it easier to produce a straight flight.- Minimal offset design to allow for workabilty in both directions.- Slightly wider sole than the previous MB for smooth flow across any surface.- Thin top line, compact head, and smooth rounded toe that is popular among better players. Below: Wow, just wow the face profile on this PW is gorgeous. Seven Iron 4 Iron
May 5, 201410 yr While I enjoy Miura, especially their baby blades, they've rarely given me that "I really wanna try these" feeling. Until now anyways. I REALLY want to hit these!
May 5, 201410 yr I would game these in a heartbeat. Some of my favourite blades designs (RR Pro Forged, AF Tours) have got some serious competition in the beauty stakes. Just gorgeous.
May 5, 201410 yr I'm a big fan of the BB and 5003 and would love to try the Isms, but these do not do it for me. Guess I am in the minority...
May 5, 201410 yr if it makes you feel better same for me. i like that they done with less stamping and heavier headweights tho. I'm a big fan of the BB and 5003 and would love to try the Isms, but these do not do it for me. Guess I am in the minority...
May 5, 201410 yr Damn you guys!! This was gonna be the year where I just make do with what I've got, especially with two new little ones around and less focus on leisure. This may have to change that. I can't see how anyone that likes traditional irons with a hint of tech wouldn't like these. That PW just has "gimme" written all over it.

May 5, 201410 yr Author Two ways to go about getting a set, the fastest is to order from the proshop: TSG ProShop it would look exactly like what you see in the pictures above. TSG can also order you something very special if you don't mind waiting. The program is called Miura Craftman World Irons: http://www.miuragiken.com/mcw/iron_set.html In a nutshell: - top line thinner - square toe - lead edge grind - trailing edge grind - both edges ground - center sole grind - many different finishes - paint fill MG Those would take about 4-6 weeks to build. We all know we would remove stamping if we could but other than that it's a pretty cool program MG's got going on.
May 5, 201410 yr What a beautiful irons there, I saw them in the proshop before but it didn't impress me until I see it again in this forum. By the way the MCW program is definitely something. Edited May 5, 201410 yr by tokidoki1986
May 5, 201410 yr What intrigues me with these is that they've gone the opposite way of two if my favorite modified blades...the TM RAC MBs and Cobra S3 Pros. Both of those carve out pockets on the heel/ toe sides of the muscle. Those are two of my all time favorite irons and I'm curious as to how these MG's would compare. And I'm always a fan of heavier head weights! Edited May 5, 201410 yr by chiromikey
May 5, 201410 yr Guys, the head weights are the same as all the Miura irons. Maybe it got lost in the translation or something, but what they did was take 15 grams away from the middle and move it around to the perimeter. Per miuragiken.com, all the irons have the same head weights +/- a gram.

May 6, 201410 yr These look great at address. It looks like there's a bit too much going on in the back but as long as I don't see it at address, it doesn't bother me.
May 7, 201410 yr Author more or less forgiving than the Epon 302's? Much less forgiving, it's a blade and smaller all around.
May 7, 201410 yr What are the finishes available under this program and is there an upcharge? May 7, 201410 yr Author This may help: http://www.miuragiken.com/mcw/iron_set.html They have one darker finish and a few variants of Nickel Satin with various tints. The Finishing house Miura uses is top notch, golf specific done in Himeji.
May 8, 201410 yr I made my way to that page but couldn't read the print that accompanied the pictures. Is the dark finish a raw like the Yururis or a coating?
May 10, 201410 yr I made my way to that page but couldn't read the print that accompanied the pictures. Is the dark finish a raw like the Yururis or a coating? They actually call the darker finish "Gun Blue"... More polished appearance.
