Calvin
A club maker told me those high module shafts are fragile to the high heat. When using the blow dry to loosen epoxy, the heat will damage the carbon structure, more or less. Is that true or what?
sandee11
I guess is true to some extent... I think not only high modules graphite but graphite in general. Normally club maker will use low heat to pull graphite shafts. I think there are lots of golfers using pulled shafts.
tomcat
Indeed. A good clubmaker will always take good care of your graphite shafts. Like for any used cars, you wanna know its history first before buying second hand.
mpbachman
Yes, obviously a clean install from a new shaft is great and overtime, the graphite and tip can become more weak through multiple installs and pulls, but from my experience, a second-hand or (third-time) install hasn't seen any issues. I have seen threads with folks pulling/installing many times then later on running into issues, but its all about getting your money worth, right :)
supo
5-6 pulls by a proper fitter is what my guy the limit and wont install after that. he says go buy a new one. Edited May 13, 2014 by supo67

tomcat
Special clubmaker epoxy is not necessary but you want one which will break easily with heat, espacially for the graphite shafts, in order to be able to pull them easily and without damaging them.
