S-Yard Japan Closes for Business

End of the brand in Japan...

We said farewell to the S-Yard Japan staff this week as everyone went their separate ways and the beautiful 4 story S-Yard HQ in Ginza was put on the market.

Now the brand is run by Direct Link Hong Kong who owes most S-Yards manufactures and suppliers money.

We will be able to get S-Yard direct still, just discovering what that process will look like now. I have little faith in their future.

The final words from the Japan staff was " It's soo difficult working with the Chinese " but I'm certain they must have also said " It's so difficult working with Americans " as well.

When we last visited S-Yard Kobayashi-san was at the helm, the brand while in serious condition had a small window to make a comeback and unfortunately failed.

So for those of you with S-Yard clubs in the bag, hold them close tonight, tell them it's gonna be ok and have a beer for the folks that lost their jobs.

Sad. Will the current lineup still be avail for the foreseeable future?

Tuff getting them to respond, it's been a week with no reply and we have many pending orders. just sent them an another request to respond today and am calling their HQ this week.

Sad to see this, but glad my instinct was right in loading up on t.338's and XV fwy's.

To Kabayashi-san, my profound thanks. I continue to bow to you in thanks multiple times per round on the course after hitting any or all of the above. ("Kobayashiiiiiiiiiiii...!" can still be heard on our club's fairways late afternoons... <g> )

And to the guys at S-Yard, many thanks for your kindness and attention. I continue to sport my S-Yard hat and bag, which always receive questions and compliments

I'm so glad I pick up an XV 3 and 5 wood from them this year. Best fairway wood I've ever owned.
