Is there some special type of epoxy used for the JDM clubs? This is the second time my club builder has mentioned that the epoxy used in the JDM clubs are really tough to get loose (S-Yard).

Hahahaha my club builder has said exactly the same thing. Must be some stronger stuff used in Japan.

Its mostly 2 part, different brands than what's used in the states.

There are a few types, If anyone is interested in ordering a bunch let me know.

the toughest epoxy i have ever encountered are the ping irons from about 5 years ago.......it was nearly impossible to get the shafts off.

Any added benefit to using these over what we have available here in the states besides it being like super glue and really really hard to get off?

The jdm epoxies realllly leaves a heck of a powerful stench once heated to failure. They also seem more elastic then the 3m stuff used here in the states. With that said, I would use it if it was available in the US.

I've used several types of epoxy over the years, each type with great success other than a particular batch of 5 min epoxy.

Is there any derived benefit to using this?

You mean 3M DP380? So this JDM is acrylic then and is good for driver heads, as you don't hear the vibration when tapping the butt of the club on the ground.
