Jeffrey Tan
Correct me if I wrong. My through my tinkering a lighter shaft means less heads weight required. If ratio of shaft weight to head 10g in favour of the head. But he has changed his in I think on the 661. 1dirtypanda
9 gr shaft weight differences = 1 swing weight point Jeff you might be right. I'm new to building woods.
Hutch
It can all have to do with the shaft weight placement also, stiffer in the tip will shift balance to the head slightly. There are so many variables when it comes to SW.
Cforselius
Since Im a student I live on a tight budget which I have to follow, but my phone recently decided to give up on life. Which means I cant buy a fancy shaft at the moment. But I do enjoy this conversation about swingweight aka headweight/shaftweight. Im pretty new around club building. I can assemble a club, shorten a club etc etc but weightning is new to me so even though the shaft hunt is put on hold, I like where this is going. Jeffrey Tan
I was amazed that the deep hosel in a 435 would make a x stiff pretty much too stiff for me... I had been playing a quadra max in the standard hosel of a 535...but in a 435 I think I need to go one flex down. Anybody found this to be true too.because I used an Sx quadra fe in my busted 435 head... Put in the 535 and it felt like a wet noodle. I saw a J Beam black 435. With a Trpx xline concept sx 45" d3 cpm 284 with a 7inch clamp... That's slots for an Sx shaft. Edited May 23, 2015 by Jeffrey Tan
Leffe
Anyone that have tried a FW shaft in a driver? + & - of this? Having a Ryoma Maxima 10,5 and tried several shafts without finding a perfect match SS around 95mph and moore technical than powerful. Still searching for the holy grail... Ian-500
I've tried a whiteboard 73x tipped for a 3w in a Kamui Works Ray 10*. Head weighed 220g playing at 43" and was 0.5 closed. Amazing fairway finder but lost around 20 yards in distance.
Staxxx
Thanks for your input sundowner, I have always liked the look of Oban shafts, and with ur numbers it seems like a good contender. I will look more in to that. I was just a click away from ordering the Rombax a while ago but I did'nt. It sure seems nice! Thanks Chris! I will keep an eye out for the TRPX, but Im a bit concerned it will blow my budget looking at the TRPX thats up now for sale. Though it would be nice trying a completly different shaft. Hello. Msg me if you would like to try a TRPX Messenger 1st in SX.
