bankbank
gonna order the agrind ut proto. Love the look. Torn between two choices for 80 gram shafts: 1. tour ad di85 hybrid 2. trpx ut-8 (stiff, 2 stars). anyone have experience playing both? I see they are also similarly priced... I have the UT-7 in my 20.5* agrind ut (the smaller one), and the feel is really nice, strong solid shaft. Just heard many good things about the tour ad di hybrid shaft. Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well, time to build a 2016 set!
+TourSpecGolfer
Fujikura MCH should be added to that list. I like TRPX but to me it plays stiff to flex. DI Hybrid is nice and straight but lacks feel. ATTAAS HY has lots of feel nice higher flight super easy to use. I wish Crazy still made the Black UT, my all time fav. nobmontana
I have a TRPX UT-8 in my 21.5 deg Buchi driving iron and to Chris's point I have a 1 cross flex and it feels plenty of shaft to me. At this flex, I can feel the weight of the head and shaft loads up very nicely with a good kick at impact. I really like this shaft. Would use it for any utility iron or hybrid. My other driving iron is a 20 deg Fourteen Type 7 and I have a Crazy STP 85g in it. It is lower launching than the TRPX but I think it would work well in windy conditions. More of a control shaft than a distance shaft.
bankbank
i agree on the stiffness of the TRPX UT. When nutted i love the "thump" feeling, and imo it pairs nicely with the agrind. Had an royal collection hybrid paired with the factory graphite design, and that was also a good shaff, but i forgot the model.. but if the proto ut launches higher than the standard ut, i think the trpx would pair well.
