Hey guys,

I just played the first round with my new sticks. Baldo 568 MC Competizione with Modus 115 10th Anniversary; Baldo 438h driver with Vanquish 5X, Baldo Brassie with TiNi 2013 proto and Baldo Corsa Bounce Back wedges in 50 and 54 with Modus 125 Wedge shafts.

Irons:

Beautiful profile! Sharp muscle back look from the top, perfect pointy toe and not a very intimidating grind. My playing partner said that the sound when I struck the ball was something else. I've hit one bucket since a round in Malta in November. Before then the last round was in September. So, not really on top of my game.. Regardless, I did catch most of my iron shots in the flesh and the feeling was very, very rewarding. So soft. Pure. Much easier to hit than what I anticipated. The shafts likely helped a bit. Last year I played the Oban CT-115 in X in my Epon Personal 3's. That was a lot more work than these.

I hit a few a bit off of the toe. To my surprise I did not lose as much distance as I did with the P3's. Perhaps the tungsten weight in the toe helps with powering the toe through? If that is the case - this is the best design I can think of. One of my common, costly misses is a toe that ends up short.

As a first impression report - very, very happy with the irons!

Driver:

Looks great. Perhaps a little closed at address. Or probably not, but I'm used to 1.5-2° open. The sound was not the best - I love a muted thud. This was more "average" but not pingy or anything like that. The shaft - yes! This is what I need. I'm getting old (46), have had shoulder surgery on both shoulders, have degenerated discs etc. Taking away 10g of weight from the shaft seems sensible, but I was a bit afraid that it would feel whippy or loose. When that is the case I find it difficult to hit a high cut. But nope. It was effortless to swing it but in no way did I feel that it didn't hold up. No snap hooks when I was swinging hard and out of tune and I could hit that high fade. The last one is a go to shot when my back is acting up the most on the back nine. Overall very happy with the driver too. The shaft is the real winner - 10/10 - it is beautiful too. The head - 8/10.

Wedges:

They don't look quite as good as the irons to me. Don't get me wrong - the shape of the wedges is perfect, but the back of it is a little busy. I like the grind and I like the look from address. The spin seems to be more than adequate, however, the greens were soft.

I really like the design of the wedges more so than the irons. You need matching ferrules on the wedges though Shame on you. Driver combo looks great.

Haha! Get me some. Love the ones on the irons. I’m not responsible for them - came built like that.
